That’s the problem the club have created by signing so many younger players who need minutes. Rigg should be getting sent out on loan but because he’s a local lad with a bright future everyone’s screaming for him to start when there’s better players ahead of him
He deserves to start on merit, who are these better players ahead of him?

How though? How many good games did he have last season? He was average more often than not coming off the bench but because he’s not foreign he didn’t get the same stick. Neil, Browne, Ekwah are all better as the 8. AA/Jobe better as the 10. I believe he was given a run out last season because they were desperate for him to sign a contract which is fair enough but 40+ games in league one at a team pushing promotion will be better for him than the odd start here or there/coming off the bench for us.

What? Rigg has been class and he's been our best player in pre-season also

But what does doing well mean? Paying a load of players who don't necessarily have any meaningful connection to the club or region to get us success is a hollow victory in my eyes. If we can't have a team full of academy products, I want lads who have loyalty here because we've given them a chance. And not just the chance to have a big pot of cash.
Even the big clubs cannot oroduce enough first class academy players to fill a team. You need to buy. Think you nay be better off just watching the youth teams if you just want to watch a load kf lical lads playing and not bothered about progression

Got nothing to do with him not being foreign, Riggs upside is massive and thats what people are excited about so want him to be given an opportunity in the team. He was 16 yrs old playing in the championship and while he didnt pull up any trees there were plenty of games where he didnt look out of place.

Who knows how often he will play this season but he is someone who will be pushing for a start so we need to keep him here imo

Have you watched the lad in pre season?

But he didn’t do anything to warrant a starting place either it’s just down him being a local lad and having that massive upside like you said. Should players who are better than him now miss out to accommodate? I think a 35+ game season at someone like a Bolton would be of massive benefit to him but they’ve more than likely promised him game time if he stays.

May be a controversial take but I would like to see us sell someone for good money soon. Just looking at how Hull are being linked with both Stansfield and Charlie Hughes and think we just can't compete with that until we do what they have done and sell some players. I think they undersold Greaves and Philogene but getting Stansfield and Hughes in would make them forget about that quickly. I like the business we have done so far I just feel like we could've signed these players 2 summers ago, we haven't really pushed the model on yet.

Celtic beat Man City in pre season yesterday it means nout. Hemir scored in every pre season game last season. I’ve watched Rigg in actual championship games and whilst looking tidy on the ball at times he’s had plenty of games where he’s done nout. Which is totally expected by the way he’s still a boy competing against men and to even be doing that at his age is incredible but I want to see the best team possible on the pitch regardless.

He could have 3 poor seasons and still be a very bright prospect. Fact he's so young and having a positive influence is tremendous

I dont think you are watching the same games as me, we will have to agree to disagree
