It is, but there is the slight caveat of big sell on clauses due with a lot of players. Rumoured 35% for Ekwah etc.
Even if we do business at £10m that is still a reasonable fee for someone likely dropping down the pecking order. The way we got some of these players in our price range originally was to add in sell ons. It doesnt really worry me as it is not like we have lost out, we are still quids in really and I would fancy our academy lads and Jobe to shine with more game time which means bigger bids for them in time.

Sell ekwah for a decent fee with a percentage on future transfers to possibly recoup what we will pay West Ham. Sometimes looks unplayable to then bottling the basics next game. Shame as I like him, but probably easily replaced

That is a bit of a conundrum in my opinion. I suspect £7m is being floated to smoke out other suitors. I have a feeling he is a player the club may think we already have the replacement for in Pembele. Then we have Huggins whenever he returns. I do like Trai, but he is probably more easily replacable with a prem loan to supplement Pembele / Huggins. My feeling would be get closer to £9m and we might do some business.
Hume would be very difficult to replace with someone as good imo, his stats are right up there with the best in the division. He’s got three years left on his contract with us having an option for another year so we are really in a good position and it’d take a daft offer for us to sell I would have thought.

The club deserve credit for the continuity that is starting to become evident. I find myself ok to see Ekwah leave because of Rigg and Jobe. Same with Hume because of Pembele. In prior years I cant imagine feeling losing two key first teamers would not need replacing.

We have to sell players at their highest value.

Clarke - do we risk it and see if we get promoted? If not now is the time to sell.

Hume - he's class, but is a right back going to fetch anymore than 10 - 14 mill in the championship?

Ekwah - his stock is high atm. However, if he's not getting a kick next year he won't be worth half as much.

It's a hard balancing act. At least I have faith the club will command the best fees for players nowadays.

Exactly that. If we sell these young players, stick a clause in so if they do well, we likely recoup the money we lose to whoever we bought then from

I hope I don't come across as too trigger happy trying to get rid of players.

I actually like our lads atm. They have there faults, but they're a very good young technical team.

Unfortunately some are going to have to move on sooner rather than later.

Wish I could share your confidence, but I think we may be in trouble replacing Hume with Pembele. Such a shame Huggins is so injury prone.

Was weird that Ekwah got the least minutes out of the first team midfield on Saturday
