Makes sense in that buying from France can get us better value than the UK. Not overpaying / getting value for money seems to be our second highest priority after developing youth.

Experienced and has a decent chance to bed in straight away, with the French connections at the club.

I'll give the rumour 7.5/10 but reserve the right to change it to 8.5/10 with a good highlights video!

I don't think a striker at the price point we want exists, without a sale, so "sacrificing" the "model" to spend more than we normally would on a 30 year old, actually makes sense. Its either £2m on a 30 year old with a great goal scoring record, or £8-10m on the same player who's 23/24.

Occasionally the model needs to flex to short term gain, and I'm hoping for a striker this is exactly what we will do.

His goals alone are worth a punt at 2m. I'm curious and a touch excited. But entirely ignorant as always.

Caen have been on the cusp of promotion for the last 3 seasons and this fella has scored 60 goals during that time, he still has 2 years left on his deal, again unless there is some other element we're not aware of, no chance they let him go for £2m.

Transfermarkt has him valued at €4m and they usually undervalue players. Ballard is valued at €4m for the record.

Trust the voice of reason to come along and piss on my bonfire.

There's no chance he goes for anything more than 3m he also wants to leave

30 years old, a ligue one journey man, banging them in in ligue 2, probably on a four-figure wage, I'd say it's an uphill battle for us in a straight race with Saudi, but you never know.

his movement looks good here, seems to drop deep a lot and goes wide to the channels etc

You're very enthusiastic about this fella.

If the deal was: £6m fee and £25,000 pw wage (our new highest earner), 3 year contract.

Would you sign off on the deal? Just curious.

no, but I don't believe the fee will be anywhere near that
