£30m seems somewhat short for those 2 imo. They're probably on a par with Ballard and Clarke and I'd be hoping for a bit more than £30m.
Greaves is quality and a better CB than Ballard imo, younger too. I haven’t paid too much attention or seen enough of Philogene to form a proper opinion.

I am not massively keen on Norwood personally. Decent enough player but dont see him as the holding player at all. Like you say not good enough out of posession. I would keep Neil in there to dictate our game, and let Rigg play more advanced with Jobe and Ekwah.

Jobe and Ekwah were far too anonymous for large parts of last season. We were crying out for a player who could solidly perform and give us a 7-8/10 each week so those 2 could be taken out the firing line. I think Neil excels further forward also, breaking the lines and gliding past players, shooting needs work mind and he has definitely improved the defensive side of things.

Interesting comment from Le Bris to Phil Smith today. They asked him where he wants Jobe to play and le bris said “I have a very very clear idea about where I want him to play but I’ve not spoken to him yet”

going purely off assumption but that sounds like CF to me. Especially with the “ I’ve not spoke to him yet” Jobe has said he doesn’t really want to play there but will if they think that’s his best position

That is interesting, if he knows for sure where he wants him he's just about the only person who does. As you say it sounds like CF, which would be a good call imo.

Also in regards to back room staff. Phil smith said Le Bris let on that he didn’t really see the lorient staff as crucial to him as a coach, he hadn’t been the head coach there very long and it was his first go. So would make sense for le bris to being interviewing for new staff

Another signing for Sheff Wed. Really intrigued to see how Danny Röhl does there this season…

Been a slow day today so I’ve been a football nerd and looked at centre mids that could be options for next year, one that’s stood out from league one is Ethan Erhahon from Lincoln, only 22 and bosses the midfield, they’ve been flying of late too, scout and felltop will be better qualified than me if they have seen much of him?
…plenty of championship interest according to Sky Sports.

I’d be tempted to push it personally - although I said the same thing last year in anticipation of Evans coming back in the autumn! Last year’s pair are good enough for a playoff push in my view. And for me Seelt is the upgrade that we already have on the books. I reckon we’d be able to bump along till the winter with what we have - albeit I’d be okay for us to get a top quality option in too, of course!
I think not. Cover us till at least Jan and if it has to be longer let Seelt recover on a loan.

Agree on Greaves. Philogene delivers a good ball into the box and is hard to get the ball off.

I don’t think it is. I think he’s an 8

37 days until our season starts - lots of work to be done. Hopefully we’re busy next week, it would be nice to head into the first pre-season fixtures next weekend with some fresh faces.

The eco-****ing-system of the squad? This bloke needs either gagging or ****ing peddling
Absolutely nowt wrong with the way he speaks. It's the correct term to use rather than explaining the whole thing. People should rightly criticise his performance at times, but doss my head in when he's picked apart for the way he speaks. Lazy like. Most successful people speak that way, it's a common language

‘Quality is the most important thing’

He’s talking more ****e. Certainly hasn’t targeted quality in recent windows.
Hows he talking more ****e? He says that last season they focused on quantity but this yr its about quality - thats what we all want

Not sure what was wrong with anything that he said

We all agree that its now time for action but they still have time for that then we can judge the window

Corporate man speaks in corporate language

I get it can come across as a lot of waffle like but it’s so easy to ignore it

Playing out from the back especially goal kicks is woefull pato to full back, full back to other full back, full back back to pato. pato whacks it up field. we need one of the CMs to have the confidence to help out, take the ball and move forward. as it is we are putting pressure on ourselves pratting about across the back line.

Think its when his comment about going for quality is being called s****e just because the last few windows havent been of the standard needed

I get he rubs folk up the wrong way but as you said its easy to ignore him

Also well done on Speakman for getting rigg to sign a new deal, we doesnt get a lot of praise in his role but thats a class deal to get agreed
