And do what with the ones we have?
Loan them out, see how they develop - using the loan market is going to be the key to the success of some of these youngsters

I dont mind us signing more younger players, the better ones will come through and the ones that dont will be moved on

Getting these young players - likes of mayenda hemir etc to the right clubs on loan will help us to understand exactly how ready/good theyll be for us

I'd say Loan Hemir out, Mayenda with the u21s, Mundle can be a squad player, Bennette id like to see given a chance in pre season, the loan in greece was more the ****show their club was in, not down to him to why it failed. Seelt will be quality IMO just got to come back from injury

So £4m on Hemir, Mundle and Mayenda plus wages for none of them to be anywhere near our first team never mind improve us, and we’re suggesting to sign MORE kids who might be better.. we aren’t Chelsea.

We’re a championship club working within a budget. Where’s the logic in having 5+ kids that we’ve spent money on, paying decent wages etc out on loan to go and sign 5 more who might be better than them or might be worse. How do we improve?

Tend to agree. Ideally we have 2 players for every position:

GK: Patterson, Moore, Young
RB: Hume, Pembele
CB: Ballard, (Seelt)
CB: O'Nien, Hjelde, Anderson
LB: Cirkin, Alese, (Huggins)
CDM: Norwood, Triantis
CM: Neil, Ekwah, Rigg, Matete
CAM: Jobe, Aouchice
RW: Roberts, Ba, Mundle
LW: Clarke, Bennette, Embleton
CF: Rusyn, Hemir, Mayenda

Need at least 1 CB, loan out Hemir, Mayenda, Mundle & Young
Sell Matete, Anderson and possibly Embo
Centre Forward is the obvious one and another left winger if Clarke goes

11 starts, 4 as CB, the rest in midfield (not that the position he plays is relevant to this discussion)

You’ve just said you can’t wait to see him as a DM for us, going off your numbers which don’t seem to line up with soccerway/transfermarkt at most he’s played 7 games there in the SPL.

Who said we are signing 5 more tho?

You want as much talent in your ranks as possible, some youngsters will kick on and improve the 1st team, others wont and will be classed as a waste of money. We need to get the balance right in the squad for sure but if they see a brilliant youngster who they think can improve us and is better than what we have they should 100% go for it

Not quite the announcements we are waiting for but here are some pics from training. I think they are hinting at a new contract for Clarke :emoticon-0105-wink:

Clarke is still at a stalemate with negations. Strange one as we’re paying Neil a fair amount so I don’t understand why we’re not budging for Clarke

Mundle could be decent imo. Seems like someone RLB could really develop. Interesting to see how Seelt is once fit as he got a terrible injury.

If we loan 5 out the squad is 5 short and people don’t want us to sign older heads so I’m assuming they want us to sign 5 more kids unless we just aren’t replacing them..? On top of those mentioned even Pembele, Alese, Aouchiche will all struggle to get solid game time. How is it beneficial for them to sit on the bench not playing because there’s already a young lad in their position? We’re just going to be throwing wages at players who aren’t improving the team praying that they’ll make us a few quid, mental.

Keeping him and Alese fit would be a massive boost to us. I'd quite like to see us play Alese as part of a back 3 with Cirkin and Hume/Pembele as wing backs.
Agreed that we have the players to play a back 3 but I think the higher ups prefer us to play with a back 4.

Mundle will be in the first team squad this season, Hemir probably a loan to develop and the just turned 19 year old Mayenda a transition player between u21 and bench. It's money well spent if one of them make the grade and get sold on.

Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris is in line to add further firepower to the squad he has inherited at the Stadium of Light as the Black Cats have emerged as the frontrunners to sign Divin Mubama following the expiry of his West Ham United contract, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.
Would be a very good signing, but still want an experienced CF through the door

Alese and Ekwah will be in his ear as well.

The best players will play tho, if adil etc are playing and training well theyll get in. Its a long season so some will have to bide their time then up to them to take it when they get it. Theyll all have to show the manager that they deserve to start

Loaning 5 players out isnt a lot tho and gives thoss lads valuable game time

The younger players wont be on much money so hardly like massive wages are being tied up

Fair enough decent fees were paid but a good loan move can help us get those fees back or they come back ready for the 1st team

Newcastle just got over 30 million from one of their lads having a cracking loan move

Loaning our players out will be key to helping them develop - obviously not all of them but def some of them

He did ok for us in the couple of games he played. He then started as CB at Hibs and struggled, came out the starting XI for a couple of games then back in as a CDM where he impressed by all accounts. Based on that, I'd like to see what he has to offer as a CDM. He came here with a reputation for being a good passer of the ball. Maybe CDM is the better position for him, like it was for Kirchhoff who had been a CB all of his career
