Second favourites behind Leeds.

Leeds look bang average so far aswell.

I'm trying not to count my chickens etc... but I think the change in Sunderland at the minute isn't a temporary thing. It isn't a few players have played a blinder or teams have been ****e making them look good it appears there has been an entire shift in style that looks like it's very effective and will be difficult to play against! Could be a very good season to watch coming up!

It’s very early days mate - Leeds still have some quality players. I’d be delighted if we were anywhere near them points wise come May.

A lad, on the Burnley forum, posted this before it was in the media, said it was his mate who'd seen the message ...

... he was absolutely torn to pieces and virtually condemned as a traitor <laugh>

I wish we were going there instead of Portsmouth, the atmosphere would be feral.

Aye traitor now but if they have a string of ****e results it will be "got rid of him for telling the truth, should have been promoted to first team head coach knew what was going on!" Etc...

Football fans are slightly fickle! <laugh>

vey big 48 and half hours ahead

Well, aye. We need a lot better if we’re wanting promotion.
To be fair Isidor could smash 20 goals for all we know. He’s an unknown. I’d still say that that all it does is replace Clarkes goals, need more regular goals from elsewhere to add. Browne scores a few, maybe 5 - 8 a season, Jobe maybe 8 or 10. If we add another goal scorer we’re a massive threat.

Isidor is a massive unknown and we’ve still lost Clarke. Are we stronger now than we were a week ago? Nope. It’s a massive couple of days ahead.

Honestly I wouldn’t mind just one of the three but ideally Simic/Cannon and Mendy would be great

Are they still favourite to go back up? They seems like a basket case and unless something changes they could struggle to get anywhere near.

A few more defeats and a couple more incidents like the last few weeks and an attitude could set in at the club that would be difficult to turn around!

Hopefully it happens as anyone who was expected to be strong going to pot is good for us!

Think they still have plenty of good players but the chaos won’t help at all.
Even if they do manage to bring in a load of players to replace those going out, they won’t settle quickly at all. Sounds a recipe for disaster.

Can i seriously ask, why the clamour for Cannon? He signed for Leicester last year , and they discovered a back stress fracture (or something like that). Took months to get fit, and still didn't play much . He's scored a few goals in this league, but as soon as Leicester get promoted they want rid of him, and don't believe in him, without trying him in the Premier League. Why should we sign someone that obviously Leicester are either concerned by his medical issues, or his inability to cope with the Premier League. Sign him now and we'll end up trying to get rid of him. Simic has so much more potential

Whatever the case, and I know this sounds soft, football supporters need their club to have an identity ...

... Burnley, with their current owners, could just as easily be QPR, Hull or Plymouth.

They've become a franchise and it's horrific, Bob Lord will be turning in his grave.

Same here, two out of three would be fantastic but if we only ended up with Simic or Cannon I’d still be pleased.

Doesn’t sound soft at all mate and I’m in agreement with you.
We’ve been there with large turnover and mercenaries coming in for a pay day - it’s not the way to go. Much prefer how we are going about our business now.

It's quite weird watching the likes of Ballard and Cirkin absolutely beaming at being with Sunderland ...

... while clearly being way too good for us <laugh>
