He’s probably backing himself to do well in the Prem with Ipswich and then get a bigger move next season if they come back down.

Understand the move but gutted that he's leaving - not gonna be looking forward to breaking the news to the grandson as Clarke is his favourite player
Hopefully we spread the cost across the squad. Should help get simic across the line and other good additions to bring the overall squad standard up

I've never thought he was a top six player, probably borderline top half ...
... he has no pedigree in the PL so they're taking a chance.

I think we will. Already started by the looks of it. I hope there's not a massive backlash from the nay-sayers, we needed a big sale and Jack's ready for the prem.
I also hope people understand we won't be buying a player for 20mill. We'll probably buy 3 for 5mill and reinvest the rest in the club.

You can only sell what people are willing to buy. If £15m+ add-ons lets us sign Simic and Wilson on the basis that Clarke was never going to sign a new deal then so be it.
I also think they’ve sold under their valuation to get the sale done quick so they have time to spend before deadline day
