Just spent 700k on Bishop from Man Utd, unless we’re making that back we’re not paying up his contract for him to sign for free elsewhere.
Really? I’d expect the fee we paid for him to be closer to half of that!

Liam Millar be a good start if Clarke goes. Still rate Jack Rudoni if Huddersfield go down. Both have a bit of championship experience and more ready to make an impact than youngsters from abroad.
Good shout. I rate him and know we’ve been interested previously. He played well against us down there a few weeks back…

They’d probably want daft money, but otherwise I’d say he’s a good as you see in the Championship that isn’t being courted by Premiership clubs. If you could get him for £2m he’d be a very nice signing, my worry is Plymouth would be looking for upwards of £5m.
I would pay over £5m for him, probably upto £8m. Assuming we are banking serious money from a couple of players this would be my approach. He is likely going to cost a sensible wage too.

I think we all know that striker, once again, will be the main discourse amongst our fanbase this summer so had a play around with some data for strikers playing in the UK currently then had a watch of a few clips and came up with some suggestions.

Theo Bair, 24, Motherwell.
Tall, quick, strong, good in the air. If you want a Stewart replacement this is the one. Runs the channels well and brings others into play with good hold up play which creates chances for others.

Ruel Sotiriou, 23, Leyton Orient.
More of a versatile forward (I know, don't shout at me) who's very much in the 'false 9' category but if we look at the back end of last season with Gelhardt we got a lot of joy playing with a striker who was comfortable dropping deep, and that's what Sotiriou is good at. Picks up intelligent positions deep allowing the wide players to run beyond, then arrives late into the box with a lot of his shots coming from the edge of the area. Can play behind a main target man also.

Joe Gelhardt, 21, Leeds.
If Sotiriou isn't available why not go back in for Gelhardt? His goal scoring record here was poor but his overall impact on the team I thought was very good. He isn't getting any minutes for Leeds in the championship so if they go up he definitely won't be in their plans.

Tom Cannon, 21, Leicester.
Maresca admitted Cannon is the 4th choice striker at Leicester and was left out of the squad against us because of that. Excellent finisher and will definitely be a realistic loan signing.

Sinclair Armstrong, 20, QPR.
Unbelievably raw footballer but has potential to be a high level forward. Not sure if i'd want him as our main forward option but he's definitely a player i'd be interested in. Quick, powerful, excellent in counter attacks and has really good ball carrying data.

I don't think any of these players would break the bank and I think they could all be signed without selling a player first. Obviously if we sell players and have a large budget we could be looking at players above this level but I think these are a good starting point.
Love this mate

Cannon would be 1st choice for me, would be a class loan signing for us

Lennon miller is class, big fan of his, heard hes going to italy as hes seen how well scottish lads are doing over there - not from a reliable source tho

Bair is having some season, was shocking when i saw him at st Johnstone but seems to have totally kicked on - still not convinced hes got what it takes to play championship football but 100% the type we should be looking at - a presence

Wouldn't be angry if we took 3/4 players from Peterborough.

Edwards
Burrows
Kyprianou
Poku
Some good young players there but I hope we’re going for more experience this summer. Players who have performed well previously in the championship…

Yeah definitely, just waiting to see how the promotion/relegation picture shakes out and who ends up out of contract. Batth, Pritch and Evans were all signed in our League one promotion season so I HOPE the decision makers remember that.

Can see a palace or Brighton taking a chance on Edwards unreal amount of games under his belt for his age

How would people feel if we used a large wedge of the money from player sales to bring in experienced players, on a free but who command bigger wages? Will Hughes, Che Adams type of players?

It's what we did while in League One, signed older championship level players on frees in Batth, Evans and Pritchard. So as long as they are fit and willing to come here and work then it's a big yes from me. No mercenaries though.

If I could add two former players to our squad now they would be Kirchhoff and Bent. Bit old now like but those two types are what were missing.

It will be interesting to see if Speakman and co have learned their lessons from this season.

experienced players needed through the spine

a defensive midfielder needed

a number 9 needed
