Reading this, surely you would move Dodds back into that player development role, interesting that he name checks a set piece coach - something we have been poor on for a number of years
He’s Thinking about one or two championship experienced players that can help pilot the team.’ That to me says Norwood and an experienced centre half which is needed imo.
I’d be very happy with Norwood like. If we shifted Embleton and Matete and got him and Browne it would make a huge difference.
“Of course, the team is young,” said Sunderland’s new boss. “But if you look at the last two seasons, the young players – 18, 19, 20, 21 – they will have gained some experience. “That is useful for the future. But then also, we are thinking about one or two more experienced players, who know the Championship very well, for example, and have high standards when it comes to training. They can help dictate the way of playing, and lead the team during the game. “These kind of players could be young or could be older. We have all of these ideas in our brain, then we have the issues of the market, which is never simple. But with work, and the quality of the organisation, I am sure we will have a good team by the end (of the window).” Regis Le Bris outlines his Sunderland transfer expectations | We Are Sunderland Régis Le Bris confirms Sunderland summer transfer plan (sunderlandecho.com)
Good. This side is crying out for some experience. Especially in centre midfield. In the final games of last season when Evans was coming on, you could see the calming influence he had. We need someone like that - but more reliable to stay fit.
Thought it was a great presser. He talks really well. I like his comments about getting the style and identity right, he wasn’t to play a style that excites us. He thinks we can press high, be energetic and also control the game
Being honest that’s a bit of a worry for me in this but we just need to see who comes. If they’re having a restructure x needs to fit with y
Didn't a lot of them stay on to work with the new coach. I think that's the way it's supposed to work. Put it another way, would you up sticks and go to another country with the possibility that you could be out of work in 6 months. Alternatively they may not have the abilities and experience that we are looking for. RLB did say he was involved in the recruitment process so if he's happy fair enough.
This worried me; was told like what's out in the media, he wants a fresh approach. I doubt he'd have a say on transfers if he didn't have a say on his staff. After my Goetze claim recently, my ITK status has been revoked.
I wouldn't be so sure mate. I heard that he will get an advisor type person who he knows. But for some reason they have decided to also interview for coaching positions.
