Said it before but it’ll be gutted if that’s the sort of forward we’re targeting again.
Exactly, what would be the point. Lankshear has played no first team games. Even Burstow, the worst striker I have ever seen for Sunderland, had played and scored in L1. We have inexperienced strikers we want to develop in Hemir and Mayenda. If we loan Lankshear it suggests no lessons have been learnt and Le Bris will start with one hand behind his back. I am not against loans but if we do loan let them be players who have some proven track record like Stansfield.

Agree or that El Hamadi from Ipswich who may be available for loan this season with them being promoted.

He looks a brilliant prospect but he probably isn’t what we need right now.
There’s no probably about it. The time for signing bairns to play up top is gone. We’ve got enough youngsters already. Needs to change or it’ll be more of the same.

Yes, the sort of strikers we simply have to go for are the likes of Cannon, Moore, El Hamadi, Stansfield, Delap and maybe Bair from Motherwell. Untested loanees from the Premier League would be like making mistakes and then repeating those mistakes expecting a different result. If Speakman doesn't back Le Bris sensibly it won't just cost Le Bris his job but Speakman as well.

Yep unless they're confident this young loans will bag goals I don't see the point, especially when we have youngsters here waiting to be developed, lets hope lessons have been learned but right now im not holding out much hope.

I don’t believe that, I’ll be honest. Zero trust after the last 3 transfer windows. We’ll see.
Just going to hope lessons have been learned, they’ve said they have guess we’ll find out soon enough

Age means nowt, it's experience in senior football that I care about. Simms was 21 when he signed here and was doing just fine

Fishpaste and the echo have said we want to target more experienced signings tbf and we have just signed a 34-year-old goalkeeper with plenty. We can sign young players all we want IMO they just need to have games in senior football behind them and plenty

Agree with that simms had had 2 successful loans before he came here, it’s too big a risk for us to be taking kids who’ve not played mens football at this stage for me, young absolutely but have to have played and cut it in men’s football for me

That's my point tbf mate, age doesn't mean anything it's the senior football games they've had that does. So when people say we can't be signing young players to go upfront, I don't agree as there is a load with senior football games behind them

That’s one example. Should we name the rest of the ****e signed recently who’ve contributed absolutely nothing playing up top here in the last couple of years? Hopefully things change, we’ll see come September.

The key point I was trying to make is the age part means nothing at all, it's the senior football games behind them, Hemir and Mayenda had **** all behind them that's why they are a far cry away from the likes of Simms. IMO, we should be looking at Troy Parrott, Tom Cannon or Ali Al-Hamadi
