Just as a quick update been speaking to my nephew who was out for a beer with CR dad at the weekend and he said his dad never mentioned anything about Chris going to any other clubs and last he heard was that he wanted to stay. Good news I hope.
He’s said he’d love to play for Newcastle according to my mag mate’s mag son (I know!). He knows Rigg personally I do know. What he didn’t say was that rigg said he wants to go there now!

If the mags are his boyhood club, I have no issue with him wanting to play for them at some point. Hopefully we’ll now get him tied down along with others. Gaffer is in, get those who we need talked to!

Unfortunately if them c*nts are serious about wanting him they’ll get him. They can offer him 10x the wages we will easily, new car/house whatever he wants. Granted he won’t be near their first team but they’ll just loan him out, will he really be arsed about staying here on peanuts and lingering around the first team coming off the bench here and there?

The one bit of business we’ve done so far seems a sensible one and adds much needed experience and hopefully he can push Patto. I don’t think we’ll see him replace Patto but it’s good to see they’re not letting him rest on his laurels.

i think we all know where the squad weaknesses lie and that’ll show us what our level of ambition is. Most expect Clarke to leave and I don’t think Mundle is ready to replace him.

We also have to sign a striker because the ones we have aren’t good enough, along with a CDM.

Problem with Cirkin is he struggles to stay fit for more than a month, shame because he’s an excellent full back.

I think the Euros have highlighted that if he can stay fit, he would certainly be considered for a LB role with England. Trippier is good back up for Walker at RB, but at LB he throws the balance out. Shaw and Chilwell are both as injury prone as Cirkin.

I have spoken to his dad before and his dad is a mag fan I believe Chris is also a fan but maybe not as died in the wool as some would believe. He was speaking to my cousins son a few weeks ago and said how could he not be a fan of Sunderland after all the club has done and continues to do for him so maybe being a fan and having allegiances are 2 very different things which I guess we see in football with players and ex players quite regularly

Wonder if there’s any further players close to joining before Le Bris arrives.
Hopefully

48 days until our season kicks off. Would be great to have the majority of our business done for the curtain raiser, although unlikely

One thing we can give kld and speakman credit for regardless of what they have gotten wrong is they won’t be taken for a mug when it comes to selling players

Yeah great deal for Stewaet given the circumstances and others that have been linked with moves away are still here (which makes me assume we are wanting decent money.

Agreed. That’s definitely one area where it would be hard to criticise.

Selling players is a good thing and allows the club to progress, especially while competing against parachute payment clubs, but a big part of that is selling for the highest fee possible. No point selling Jobe now for the first offer if we believe he'll be worth £10m+ more next summer.

Pretty sure he's happy here as well. Plus his parents seem smart and focus on their son's development over chasing money.
