Just seen that Leeds are now not as ****ed as they were as Red Bull are pumping a lot of money into them. Interesting one.
They’ll lose some good players this summer but I have no doubt they’ll replace them properly and be right up there next season. Current favourites for the title…

Lucky bastards. I always wanted Red Bull to invest in us. They were always going to invest in English footy at some point.

Re the first point - everyone has a price.

Re the second point - we don't know that for sure, do we? And even then, it was for a loan. If offered it permanently it might change his mind.

Just devils advocate
Just what Stansfield himself said about Birminghams location. Mowbray thought Stansfield had signed and one of the ITKs on here even suggested he was at one of our games.

Of course he may be more open to the idea of coming up here now but i'm not sure I personally would be paying what Fulham would want, think there's better out there for fractions of the price.

Tough one but I’d be going all out for Stansfield. It looks like Fulham want to keep him for next season though which isn’t a surprise.

I like Hardie at Plymouth, he’d cost a fair whack I presume.

The lad Cullen at Swansea is decent too I think. Certainly better than what we have and wouldn’t cost too much.

Stansfield for me too, it's a push but if you don't push the limits you won't get anywhere. I think it'd be doable.

Failing that Scout has recommended a few foreign lads who sound like they'd fit in and hit the ground running rather than taking two years to get used to the league.

I don't necesarilly disagree with this. The issue is the ones at a fraction of the price come with the same sort of risk as Rusyn, Hemir, Mayenda etc. I feel like we need to spend on one thats much less of a risk in this position. We've been burnt too many times.

There’s thousands of centre forwards playing football across the world, most we wouldn’t have even heard of. It’s down the Harvey/Speakman and co. to deliver. So far we’ve failed miserably in recruiting for that position.

God, its so simple. I wonder why the club haven't realised there are so many centre forwards out there..

By far the hardest position to scout, if a striker has a good goal scoring record theyll have so many teams competing with them - its why strikers cost so much

Its finding the hidden gems, like we did with Stewart, who havent got the goal scoring record but have good raw attributes

I mentioned Matanovic, a young croatian striker i really like, since mentioning him hes continued to score and now his value has rocketed

Daniel Fila is one i think we should look at, physically strong CF and id like a Tom Cannon type on loan (providing hes over his injuries)

Not for me.

That ****e logo on the shirt, stadium name change etc. At what point does investment tip over into losing your identity?!

Is Stansfield not just as much of a risk considering the price he would command? His data was really quite bad and Birmingham fans weren't exactly singing his praises by the end of the season (granted that could just be them projecting).

It really depends on the style of play the club want to implement as to who I would like us to target in the forward but i'll suggest some anyway.

Rayan Philippe - 23 - Eintract Braunschweig

Excellent in transition and counter attacks, can carry the ball which is something we lack in central areas and can finish and create.

Tobias Lauritsen - 26 - Sparta Rotterdam

Been linked to Serie A so unsure on how realistic this is. Tall, powerful finisher and thrives on crosses and first time finishes. Good technique as well.

Igor Matanovic - 21 - Eintract Frankfurt

@Scout73 's favourite. Another tall, powerful player. Love his link play.

Joe Gelhardt - 22 - Leeds

If we are going to play a possession style again I would sign Gelhardt and aim to sign goalscoring wide players.

Troy Parrott - 22 - Spurs

Had some bad loans to the championship but was really good for Excelsior this season. Scores and creates.

Killian Corredor - 23 - Rodez

Similar player to Gelhardt but has more goals to his game.

Theo Bair - 24 - Motherwell

Raw but from what I have seen he has all to tools to be a high level forward just needs to put it together. Excellent in the air.

At the end of the day, every signing, especially forwards, is a risk. If we had a defined play style it would be much easier to target players.

I’d definitely be back in for Gelhardt. Reckon he’d do the business playing off a number 9.
Same mate, really under appreciated here, still likes a forward to run the channels too could joffy do that? Don’t see a reason why not

Not so sure. I don’t believe we’ll go back in for him like, but I do think he’ll leave Leeds permanently this summer

Every man and his dog has a piece of Leeds I think mate. Even bloody russell crowe. A minor stake might just be the opening salvo from Red Bull, but I would be surprised if they pump loads in whilst so many others have a stake. I think they may find next season much tougher to be honest. Time will tell.

For me that would just put barriers in the way of playing time for Jobe or Rigg.
Rigg, who we were playing wide right at the back end of the season to accommodate Jobe centrally? <doh>

Jobe should be nowhere near the starting XI for me like but hey ho. Guarantee he’s one of the first names on the team sheet in August, regardless of who we sign.
