After Tyler Morton? If he’s the midfielder then na, don’t expect much. We need a hard bastard I will die on that hill.
Only for the last 8 years or so....Do we need a ball winning midfielder guys? nobody seems to have mentioned it on here![]()
Tbh I wasn’t at the game so can’t properly judge. Someone did post a video from the stands on Twitter where there was plenty of movement. Didn’t the goalkeeping coach have to ‘have a word’ at some point?Ingram wasn't the issue against Doncaster ... it was the 10 statues in front of him.

Feel like I've seen posts as long as that on this thread alone
As long as it isn’t addressed, I’ll keep mentioning it. I’ve been going on about it since we released Smallwood and didn’t replace him with someone better.
Thing is now people agree with you including myself. We just have to wait and see if its addressed come window end. If we dont bring someone in then we address it with internal players
I don’t think it will be addressed. Rosenior said on Humberside before the Norwich game that he doesn’t think he needs to play with a #6 and wants midfielders who are good at keeping the ball. It’s just a naive way of looking at tactics and football to assume being good at keeping possession compensates for having no midfielders who are skilled at winning it back. Arsenal and Chelsea have spent north of £100 million on a ball-winner this season. That’s how important they are and Arsenal and Chelsea are possession teams as well. I don’t know if it’s naivety or arrogance on Rosenior’s part in thinking a ball-winner is outdated or obsolete in today’s game. All the evidence instead points to a #6 being one of the most important player’s in any team’s squad.
The idea that Rosenior knows better than Guardiola, De Zerbi, Pochettino, Ten Haag, Arteta etc. on this matter is utterly laughable.
Which is why I'm surprised we aren't even looking at a halfway house - someone who is good technically, but also not afraid to get stuck in - O'Brien on loan would be the perfect solution.
Doesn't have to be one or the other - passing or tackling... You can have both.
Only offering around £500k so that’s far from doneHe is still a free agent.
I’d be after Derry Murkin at FC Volendam, but Schalke are now in for him so probably not.

Feeling like we should get a Japanese player, everybody else seems to have one.
I dont necessarily disagree but I think again it may be blowing things way out of proportion. I sent in that question you're referring to in the Mike White Q&A to see what he thought and in fairness to him he said he wasn't just looking for these big bruisers but players with some technical quality as well. That's drawn the conclusion of fans that he wants about 7 Seri's out there when I dont think that's the case.
The team certainly does need some balance but we've reached the point of people getting doomsday about it. Not to mention this team (at least in my opinion) does have a lot of strengths that outweigh this weakness. We are good in possession and are showing real quality breaking the lines. We are also pretty decent as has been shown at pressing and counter-pressing. A lot of teams will struggle in transition from attack to defence if they do what we are doing and have flexible formations in attack and defence and its not necessarily something a ball winner on its own would fix.
As I said this is all pointless anyway until the window finishes. 7 points from these opening 4 fixtures is good going and we are acting like we are ****ing playing like Sheff Wed
I’ll nippon out and see if I can find one for the team!Feeling like we should get a Japanese player, everybody else seems to have one.
We won’t be anywhere near play-offs under Rosenior until it’s rectified. This isn’t based on the games this season; it’s based on his entire tenure since November.
The midfield are utter ****e out of possession. It’s only the heroics of the keeper and defenders in our box that prevent us conceding 3 goals a game. Sometimes that’s not enough and we do end up conceding 3 or 4 a game like against Burnley, Boro and Sunderland. He can sign a million wingers and attacking midfielders and it won’t change this.
