I don’t think he’s tossing it off. I don’t doubt he’s been working hard all summer. I do think he’s quite naive though. He said he wanted robust players and wanted them in early. Many have said this is just a throwaway line by a manager and not to read much into it. Fair enough, but I genuinely believe Rosenior thought a lot of his main targets this summer were eager to join and play under a young, ambitious manager with an attractive philosophy. I think at some point this summer he had a reality check when many of his targets moved elsewhere because he doesn’t have the pull he thinks he does.

There have been hints by those ITK that we’ve missed out on a lot of targets over the course of this window and one of the main reasons is that they’d rather play for a more experienced manager. The Twine thing is fair enough and I wasn’t expecting it to happen soon as Burnley wanted to assess if they needed him. However, I don’t think Lokilo was one of Rosenior’s first-choice transfers and I find Vinagre being a main target for left-back odd given the lack of minutes he’s had.

Every manager wants business done early and it's not the first time we've heard it here. Trouble is if its sought after players you are in for they either have options or are at clubs higher in the food chain who will only release them when their 9wn business is sorted.

Sometimes you have to wait. I'm sure we would rather not have had to, but even yesterday I was laughed at for believing that we were still in for players we were in for in may.

When was it that York tiger and EV told us we were in for Twine again?24h later it appears not to be bollocks after all.

Oh, and it wasn't you who suggested he was tossing it off. You don't have to go back far to find who was though.

But then HT conceded a few days abo in one of our exchanges that Vinagre possibly was a first choice.

No club gets all it's first choice targets. It's a fact of life and why clubs draw up lists.

Twine has always been of interest, but it's a dangerous game to wait this long. Hopefully nothing happens and he's out player asap, but what do we do if he goes elsewhere, there's a injury within Burnley squad this weekend that stops him going out, or anything like that that kills the deal. I hope he's the signing we all want him to be and I hope he had the others we are supposedly in for really do transform us.

Let's be a tad realistic though, he's hardly a proven champ player ( he looks like he could be one with ease ) but so have a great number of players previously. Plus it's yet another player who last season had a long(ish) term injury lay off

Whether hate is the right word or not, LR’s popularity has fallen off a cliff on here in little over a week. Two bad (for different reasons) defeats and some frustrations in the transfer windows have seen all sorts levelled at him.
Does anyone find it unbelievably ironic that some were calling him arrogant because he believes he has similar knowledge to Pep(because he dares to copy the Man City way), while actually explaining why LR has it wrong tactically!
A few weeks ago, he was a fantastic communicator, now he just confuses people! There seems to be some disagreement among the anti LR’s as to whether he is too prescriptive, so not allowing players to think for themselves or whether they don’t understand his guidance.
Yes, there were some worrying signs in those two games, but let’s give him some slack for **** sake, and give him a chance to put things right. A successful team usually has everyone pulling in the right direction, including the support. I worry if we go a goal down early (or if Ingram fannies around with it at the back), the crowd will immediately be on his back. As we’ve all seen that doesn’t help anyone and is often the start of a slippery slope which is difficult to recover from.

He had no significant issue since he came back though, it's not like the same players getting g injured over and over.

I think the robust comment was aimed more at the recurring soft tissue injuries.

And yes, if we don't finalise Twine ( but think the probability is we will) then the waiting gamble may not have paid off - unless we still have second and third choices yet to move still. Without knowing who they are and before that's actually happened it's purely speculation though isn't it?

If the gamble does pay off though will you praise it as vociferously as you've dismissed the strategy so far? Surely it will have justified it?

You know yourself sometimes you have no choice but to wait if you want someone badly enough, it does not always come off this window we been trying for a 10 longer than any other player we been chasing but things sometimes prevent it sometimes it's the player sometimes it's the club they are at in this case it was the club, maybe we should have let it go after a couple of tries but then it was someone they desperately wanted to bring to the club **** happens clubs they are at can be bigger ****s then the agents sometimes.

No I agree no issues since, he's yet another young unproven player at this level though ( I know some will argue that, but 14 apps including a fair few sub appearances isn't proven ). We need championship experience at that end of the field and robustness. Hopefully the others we are talking to bring that

Who was it on here who said our transfer policy this summer was like trying to pull an 9 or 10 out of 10 woman on a night out but leaving at 2am with a 2 out of 10 fatty?

3 goals and an assist in about a dozen games worth of championship minutes hardly suggests he's a flop either though does it - he's hardly an unknown quantity.

I've not said he's a flop, I don't think he will be, but approx 500mins isn't experienced or proven at this level

No, but we will have to see who else comes in to offer a bit of that then won't we, though Vinagre has won the champ in the past and had a reasonable prem record at wolves. Is 35 premier league games and winning the championship experienced or proven?
