Everything seems to be pointing to him coming back here. Working out in our training gear, not on pre season trip etc.

Seems like he's desperate to come, but LR/City might not be quite so certain. Maybe we're saying we'll only take him if the finances are right.

Zero risk other than his salary?
Translates to this.

'Sporting will have to pay 100% of the player's salary'
The article states lisbon are covering his salary. Again its a big IF but if its true there's zero risk

Guess it depends on the option to buy terms. The're is a 5m incentive there based on their purchase price. With things like this the devil is in the detail.

I can't imagine that were not paying anything for his services though.

Or do what some on here do. If a poster 'offends' them take every opportunity to slag their posts off, whatever merit they may have.

V good quote.
Pity that isn't a board rule (formal or informal). It should be.

It's more than a big if.

Likely to be false, perhaps someone with an axe to grind spreading negative stuff about the club.

But the premise itself is not totally out of the ordinary especially if Sporting regard him as useless as HFFP says he is.

If he has an amazing season with us, then there’s a chance they could recoup their outlay, and perhaps we were the only club interested who could provide that type of platform thus making such a deal attractive?

Regardless, I think it’s likely we got him cheaply.

Darlow looks to be staying in the Premier league which blows both us and TWS out of the water

Can't imagine Bournemouth is his preferred destination if, as reported previously, the geography was a key factor. Even less so if they want him as a number 2 keeper.

Problem for him is, no Championship club not in receipt of parachute payments is going to pay £5m. I did wonder whether the price might come down towards the end of the window, perhaps they'd agree to another loan, and we'd reignite our interest. Be interesting to see whether the Bournemouth move happens.
