Sacking a black manager who is popular with the fans and has a strong connection with the club for a racist who has no connection to the club and isn’t even a better manager/coach would just about be the most idiotic and tone-deaf decision the club’s ever made in living memory, and I include all the **** the Allams pulled. Thankfully, it’s most certainly complete and utter bollocks.

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah said he is "devastated" the club have missed out on a spot in next season's Champions League and added "there's absolutely no excuse for this".

Salah posted his comments on social mediashortly after Liverpool's failure to finish in the top four was confirmed by Manchester United beating Chelsea.

Liverpool will finish fifth and play in next season's Europa League.

"We let you [fans] and ourselves down," said Egypt international Salah, 30. (BBC)

That's him gone during the transfer window then

Don’t know if it’s been mentioned, but Livermore has been released by WBA, I know he’s 34, but is he still a decent player?

I'm not sure what you're arguing here. I've never said the Turkish League was great, it isn't, nor is it as good as the Dutch League.

I was merely saying that we should centre our recruitment around leagues we know extensively. I thought this was common sense to be honest. Huddersfield had success by exploiting the German 2nd Division as have Norwich, Brentford used the Scandinavian leagues extremely well, and they aren't particularly strong leagues either. The knowledge of the league is probably more important than the overall strength of a league (within reason)

I was merely pointing out that your claim 'that Championship clubs don't think signing players from Holland is a good bet for the style, intensity and physicality of the Championship' was absolute nonsense.

I know you like to be a know it all, but that list you included is irrelevant. The point was about signing players from the Eredivisie, not Dutch players. That list also goes back 15 years when the Championship was a different standard, includes players that weren't signed by Championship clubs or from the Eredivisie and even includes players that have never played in the Eredivisie (Maatsen & Chong being prime examples) and misses players who weren't Dutch but signed from the Eredivisie

I’d like Johnson Clarke-Harris from PBoro…

I know it's only one game but I thought he was shocking in that playoff semi second leg. Peterborough barely got out of their half and he was the one up front just not holding onto anything whenever it was cleared. Culminating in his laughable lazy clearance in the last minute that caused the equalising goal.

Another Turkish media outlet reporting interest in Enis Bardhi.

Anyone here been scouting that?…

I don't get this idea that players from certain leagues are not suited to the Championship. All leagues have players that suit, it's just picking the right ones. The scouting network is the important thing.

Exactly, it’s the player. A League doesn’t have a style of play, a team or player does. There won’t be fans of Hellas Verona, Tenerife and Karlsruhe saying “he’s coming from the Championship, he won’t fit in in our division”. You look at what the player brings, what he can do and then work out if those skills match up to the way you want to play. You wouldn’t have thought Harry Wilson was built for the Championship, or Abel Hernandez, but they seemed to do alright and I’m pretty sure Palermo and Liverpool reserves didn’t play the same way we did at the time.
