It puzzles me why Flemming wasn't "making the cut" thought in past appearances that he played well, I especially liked his interplay down the wing with KLP and think that successful partnership could be repeated with Harry Vaughan. That would give us 2 fullbacks along with Christie who have the ball control to interchange passes with their winger to create opportunities down either side.
However it looks like LR thinks that he lacks quality in his defensive duties?

Fleming is too slow - once a winger was passed him. he couldn't catch him

I reckon you can say that about most fullbacks, even in the Prem. There aren’t too many exceptions, Walker being one though. Maybe we can get him if Pep feels he doesn’t fit the new system now?
Beat me to it. My exact thoughts too.
I'd be amazed if Fleming didn't have more pace than Elder and Greaves. I don't think pace was the reason Rosenior let him go. It strikes me as a shame we didn't keep and develop him, after all we have the perfect coach for that (in fact, 2 of them).

IMO Fleming didnt go on loan for height reasons. This club seem to be on a different curve now and if he comes back he will be loaned out again.

So Elder is to be released, any news of others being allowed to leave yet given Rosie was taking this tine to inform everyone about what is required and whether we'll be keeping or moving them on.

I know coyle at least is in talks and I'm almost certain Jones will be the same

The only sticking point with Coyle, he will have to sign any contract with the understanding he won't be an automatic 1st choice right back and will have no guarantee of regular 1st team appearances. He could often be warming the bench.

Doubt a big club would take a chance without seeing how he performs in the prem. If he does well this coming season then I'm sure you'll see him go elsewhere

The Chronicle, which is basically the Hull Daily Mail moved 120 miles north is reporting that Karl Darlow has been told to sign for us:

The 32-year-old has been told he must sign for the Tigers instead of returning to St. James' Park for another season.

Newcastle United loanee goalkeeper Karl Darlow has been told to stop being Eddie Howe's fourth-choice goalkeeper at St. James' Park and sign with Championship side Hull City.

Quite how you tell a contracted professional footballer, with a decent agent, who they must sign for, I'm not sure - or indeed whom is able to issue such a command - but it's good news for us that Darlow will be playing in a black and amber shirt next season (so to speak).

Now I'm away to tell the Missus that I've been told that I must go to the hotel bar for a Tanqueray and Tonic.

Happy days.

I wonder if Haydon Roberts will be the LB. Rosie signed him from Brighton for Derby and although Derby want to get him permanently, we should be able to get him

His contract is up too a Brighton

I’m sophisticated so I’m having a. Aperol bloody marvelous

Is it really true that any sell-on fee for Bowen if he leaves West Ham goes to the Allams? If so, I just find that utterly ridiculous that a former owner would be entitled to the proceeds of a former asset of the club.
