I think that Ingram has definitely improved with the ball at his feet and is a decent shot stopper but your point about his reluctance to come for crosses really identifies his problem area. It is in this particular aspect of his game that Karl Darlow really does shine.

Spot on, that is where I see his biggest weakness on crosses.

How good is Ingram? He was kept out ofthe side by a League 1 goalkeeper and a 4/5th choice Premier League goalkeeper. He played less than half of the season and the majority of that was the League 1 goalkeeper was injured!

You must have seen him play since Darlow came in, because up until Darlow arrived Ingram was like a rabbit in the headlights at times

There is no way Ingram would be a number 1 in a top 6 side. The difference was obvious when Darlow came in and everyone knew it. He is a decent keeper, no more than that. If we start the season with Ingram as first choice then we don't have aspirations of promotion.
Stats show there’s very little difference in ability between Darlow and Ingram.

I've just noticed the lack of bullshit ITK (mainly Turkish) tweets linking us with players that Acun was about to sign compared to this time last year.

**** you Elon Musk for cleaning up your platform and starving us of links to players we've never heard of.

Which just shows that stats alone don’t tell you the whole story, we were clearly a better team with Darlow playing.
Was that all down to the change in keeper? Or was it down to defensive improvements implemented by Rosenior? The 4 man defence and midfield were garbage at stopping free shots when Ingram was in goal.

Don’t worry. There are plenty of those on here.

Kind of adds to the point though. Before the season started everyone thought Burnley would crumble further

Not everyone but point taken.

Back to reality..

Gracing the Prem is one thing …staying there quite another but…

Relegation or not…Financial madness not to go for it.

Allam’s GONE.

Alan Nixon reckons Blackburn have joined the race for Darlow and Boro are also interested in James Trafford.

He also reckons Newcastle want £5m for Darlow. He's missed April Fools

Start at £5m and sell at £2.5m/£3m. That plus 20/30k a week wages is exactly why we should move on and spend elsewhere

I wouldn't spend a 7 figure sum on a 32 year old keeper personally. Just seems nuts on top of the big wages.

Didn’t Tan say we are trying for another year loan in his interview?

Ye, article says Boro want a loan too

Boro seem to be exempt from FFP and have been for years haha

My understanding is they used COVID losses to skirt around recent losses but that's now behind them. Keiran Maguire addressed both their and Stoke's FFP positions on a recent Price of Football ep and sounds like both have used up all their tricks now.

The problem is that the few games Darlow played for us raised his credibility significantly. Before that he was largely the forgotten man.

Easy to say in hindsight but we should have tied him down to a permanent contract early doors, once we saw that he was a good fit for us.
