Would he though? 6 in 29, 6th in the league for big chances missed with 13 and he's outperformed his xG by a couple which nobody does over a career

Yeah he blatantly would. But given he's our only player in the championship top 50, and double figures in the champ will attract interest - if we were going to sell to buy then he may attract the best fee out of the current crop.

And he's our top scorer, but not our top earner so there's probably value for all in any transfer.

That championship top 50 is complete garbage, he's not our best player or anywhere close.

Why will he blatantly score more goals? It's this lazy assumption that no stats back up.

He was available on a free last summer after a good scoring record in a good league but nobody from the top 5 leagues picked him up, so I can't see anybody rushing to pay a fee now.

I find it baffling how people's perception of Oscar is so different from the Oscar that we've seen play.

Villa wanted Muriqi in January and were directed to the £34m release clause in his contract. He's also on about £60k a week at Mallorca. Even on his best day, you'd struggle to convince Acun to part with that kind of money.

Incidentally, Figs is on comparatively little (he's one of the lowest paid first team players).

He's just the only one that makes sense and fits the fee last summer.

It's clearly not Twine, or Haji because their fees weren't £7m, so unless it's somebody that didn't come out in the media

He's been pretty starved of service a d been asked to play with his back to goal in the absence of others. Still scored 13.

He knows where the back of the net is. That's a rare commodity.

That's a possibility, but it's an informal comment reported by a 3rd party from the chairman's lounge and its not like Acun doesn't know how to lay down a teaser, now is it?

I don't see it being Muriqi unless there's a change to the ownership structure in the close season which gives us much larger FFP headroom.

We're all excited about the possibilities next season, but we're all probably giving this 7m quote way too much headspace for now.

He's 6th in the league for big chances missed so he's clearly not starved of service. I'm not saying the service is great but if he could actually bring other players into play, he'd probably get more service. There's been so many games when Oscar's done nothing and everyone says he's starved of service but when Tufan plays up there, he seems to get chances every game.

I don't think we need to spend £7m or one player or in total this summer. But there aren't meant players who match that description which we've been linked with in the media

Depends if you watch Turkish media haha.

If we can get Muriqi and Twine then **** me. But there has to be some share issue/equity release that benefits ffp to do that.

But as you say, we don't need to do that to challenge top 6 next season if we're savvy.

I aren't sure we'll sign a centre forward, Tufan has proven he's a very good option up there and as long as we keep Connolly, we have enough options. Wide players are the key, and it'll be interesting to see what happens with Sinik. He's having a productive spell back in Turkey despite being injured. Maybe we should have been more patient with him

Surely over performing his xG is an indication that his finishing has been better than expected. A good thing I'd say.

No, because overperforming xG is unsustainable and doesn't happen over a long-term period unless you're Messi

Whilst Jon parkin and deano possibly did, if it was even a metric back then.

Ronaldo comes from wide or deep, so its hardly comparing apples vs apples

They won't have done. Take Messi in La Liga, in 16 seasons his xG was 340 goals but he scored 444 and the probability of doing this was 0.0000000015%.

If his xG is say 10.5 but he's scored 13 then he has exceeded the expectation. Either he's finished better than average, or he's faced below average keepers. Plenty of players must overperform xG in order for it to be an average. If everyone underperforms it then it's not a very reliable expectation is it?

Are you forgetting Tetteh Shark who looked a more accomplished number 9 than Oscar before his injury. Balls to him stick... and as for Connolly, as has been reported he isn't fit to play next week... get rid!!

and as long as we keep Connolly,

A fit Connolly would be a real asset, but he seems to be made of glass so I think we should look elsewhere. Providing we keep Oscar & Tetteh, I'd like to see us sign another 2 strikers - the option of rotation is never a bad thing so long as you replace quality with quality, and Tetteh's injury record isn't great either
