It was definitely reported that we had left a space in the 25-man squad, and also that we had left out several players who aren't expected to be fit before January. The implication at the time was that we'd done that specifically to allow us to sign a free agent later in the autumn if one became available. Shota was quoted as being surprised that Cannon hadn't been named, which for a while fuelled some discussion about whether Acun was making football decisions. As ever though, that could've just been Shota's confusing way of speaking.
