I used to send a canary down first.

Jones probably won’t be holding his midfield spot for long once the midfield is all available. We could do with another though, Andy Smith would have been alright. Can’t see the 5th choice centre half getting much opportunity short of the injury crisis we would need him to cover for.

Is there a young Alex Averdalatze? That’s all Stevie did with Alex (brought him in as 5th choice), and the rest as they say is history.

I'm no Febs but FWIW Alexander Isak is a cracking player who was one of the standout players for Sweden at Euro 2020. For me he's the most exciting young Swedish player we have.

He's often described here as an all round striker - technical, fast, physical, intelligent and blessed with a natural instinct in front of goal. He loves to drop deep and drive the ball forward at his feet.

He's easily the most exciting forward in the Sweden team and at 22 will only get better. I think he'll be a cracking signing for Newcastle.
