Looks like he has good technical ability. He’s only played youth football though so we’ll see how he handles the physicality of men’s football in the Championship. Hopefully he can make the step up.

On a slightly related note, I still don’t think Covil is ready for senior football. Every time he’s come on as a sub (which is every game this season so far, isn’t it?), he’s looked like a boy playing amongst men. Not doubting his talent but I don’t think it’s fair to chuck him in at the deep end like this. It’s not helping his development.
Hmm I actually think that’s fairly harsh. The only time he has looked like that is against Preston for me. Burnley he got on the ball and carried it past 2 or 3 of them and won a foul. On the whole I think you’re right, he’s just not ready to start id say

Once everybody is fit he'll be loaned out, there's a few League One and Two clubs after him.

I can only speak on what I see with my own eyes and I’ve seen every game this season so far either at the MKM or on iPlayer and Shota subs him on in the last 10-15 minutes and he doesn’t look like he knows where he’s supposed to be. He just kinda runs around without much purpose. I just don’t think it’s fair on the kid. I understand we have injuries atm but he needs to be starting games with the u21s and getting 60-90 minutes there.

He lost his man completely against Norwich and it lead to Greaves clearing off the line. It's harsh to judge him but the quicker we don't have to sub him on to see out games the better

I definitely agree with him not being ready just think he’s shown a decent bit of promise on the ball but yeah off it as you say has been where he’s lacked that maturity.

That’s good, hope some of our other u21s get looked at for that level too because not knocking Covil but I don’t think he’s better than say Will Jarvis or Macca Snelgrove but as they’ve not had that first team exposure teams won’t trust them

Jarvis has joined Scarborough again on a month-long loan. Good move for him as they’re now level 6 on the pyramid. I agree that Covil probably isn’t as good as Jarvis or Snelgrove but I imagine the latter two will be loaned out to League 2 in the near future.

I have a bad feeling pelkas and halil wont happen

would be amazing if it does we definitely need them and will be a top threat if we can get them in

How do we fit all these players in?

The transfer policy seems to have turned proper gung-ho, as if we’re just signing people because they’re available.

Shota was adamant he wants to play 5-3-2 but the signings and targets absolutely do not reflect that. We’ve brought in and chased wingers but no wing backs, and we have no real wing backs either. Now if all these targets come off we’re going to have all these first 11 quality players who will be coming here wanting to start, and we won’t even be able to fit them all on the bench, let alone give them all a decent amount of game time.

All this in a summer where the policy was apparently bring a few in to reinforce what’s already here and aim to build solid foundations.

Yeah, my thoughts too.
Seems like this Arsenal lad is a real prospect, but surely one for the future rather than the No 10 we need this season. Happy to be proved wrong, but even after having watched the clips, I just don't see it.

We’ve certainly not lacked creativity the last 2 games I’d say. Playing 4-3-3 certainly helped
