Just caught up to half time on yesterday's game and Slater is playing well.

The problems are pretty similar to last season, there's just no control of the midfield, and we lose it too easily.

If we're playing with wingbacks then you can't play Coyle or Elder. They get a lot of space in that formation, and they aren't good enough on the ball.

Liking Longman's performance, he's best on the left but putting a real shift in.

Tufan was nowhere near as bad as people are making out. They played at a very good tempo, and while he's clearly off the pace, that's to be expected as he's barely played football in 6 months. Ideally you'd want his first few games to be against lower quality sides but the 45 mins will do him lots of good.

Elder has got an awful lot of assists for us for someone who isn't good on the ball.

Kieran Freeman.. possible or bollocks ?
Does he have Turkish blood in him ?

Hope he does well.

If he does then following Bowen particularly and also Robertson our reputation as somewhere helping young talent flourish grows which is no bad thing for sale prices as well as loan incomings
Things is though, we are now a totally different club compared to what were under the Allams. We are now bringing in quality players (although still looking for value). Under the Allams, especially in the latter years, our youth developed and got opportunity out of necessity, and at a lower level (L1 and struggling Championship). Hopefully Acun builds on the progress made in the Academy and somehow manages to achieve that magical balance of giving youth (especially local youth) opportunity within a much higher quality ambitious successfull set up.
