He didn’t say they were signing today. The twitter feed did and people then pass that version on. I was going to write that it is like Chinese Whispers but we now have to say Broken Telephones apparently.

I have no idea how you're so confused about this. Baz said on the 4th of July that Seri was likely signing within 48 hours. Someone said that meant he was signing today (48 hours after Baz said that), so I said he was signing today. Baz has now today (48 hours after his previous article) said Seri is signing imminently.
