'cos corporate confidentiality is a thing.
To be fair, he answered the question, just certain conditions would have had to be met before release.
Think it would be fair to KLP to walk back into training on Monday whilst already being a headline?
It just seems a bit weird, because the story has broken and then Humberside have released a 2 day old interview when it's a bit unclear when this new bid was tabled and what the situation is now.
If Baz is reporting that a deal is expecting to be done, it's because someone at the club, probably Tan, has told him
Think it was leaked to the sun by his agent or Brentford most likely. Think Tan knew it was inevitable in the coming days anyway or he'd have kept schtum.
But he did say they would sit on the offer for now.
Baz was also reporting somewhere it was a probability later in the window a day or two ago also.
The Seri being effectively done narrative was from a Turkish journalist who is fairly well known over there to be hit and miss at best. People assumed he was right because he’d got the Tufan news correct (jumped on it when it was already obvious) and he broke the news about Wright which Baz confirmed. Baz only ever reported facts which we knew to be true with Seri like he agreed to a wage decrease.
The impression I had with Swift was that we’d moved on because we’d got wind of Twine being available rather than he turned us down?
I think what you have to take from these confirmed targets is that we are operating at a whole new level.
We like any other club will have a list and work our way through it as the window progresses from the top down.

I'd take the money if its 20m and there's no other bids, but they have a track record of developing talent and they are where they are by doing just that.
Besides I think there'll possibly be others in as the widow progresses.
Tan is an experienced agent. He'll do what's right for the club.

I don't think we'd have got that level of bid at this stage in the window if the Allam's were still here.
I think they'd be cautions of accepting a bid only to find 2 or 3 clubs matching it and offering terms this early in the widow.
That Humberside excerpt suggests Tan is doing the same.
We don't need to rush to sell. Will still get similar value in January and given Brentford have been in this last 3 windows, I doubt they'll go away.

The initial statement of saying he wouldn’t sell for £30m was daft, just think he gets rather excited as he is living his “dream” after all. I’m sure he’ll learn, at the end of the day if we pull £20m in for KLP because of that statement it’s done it’s job even though people will think he’s bottled it.

He was also in the process of making an offer to the lad when that statement was made.
If its now clear he won't accept, then it's a process of getting best value.
Acun is the figurehead, Tan is the brains, but don't think for a second Acun doesn't know exactly what he's doing in conjunction with Tan.
