Time to hop down the bookies for a golden boot bet then.Rotherham United are set to sign former Hull City striker Tom Eaves.
Obligatory hattrick against us too I assume.

He managed to get out of that habit, just before we got rid.Hat trick of off sides?
Pleased he will get a chance to stay in the Championship and genuinely think he'll do well there. If he gets off to a good start, wouldnt be surprised to see him score 10-15 goals in a season there - but I guess time will tell.Rotherham United are set to sign former Hull City striker Tom Eaves.
I’d be very surprised if he gets over 7, although I think if he has someone up front with him he might have a chance at 10.Pleased he will get a chance to stay in the Championship and genuinely think he'll do well there. I agree. He's just what we need to come on and change the game if we are losingFraizer Campbell released by Huddersfield.
I know he's 34 now but I'd still give him a year.
A hull city reserve team would win 20-0 every week in the Humber prem.Well considering we had 18 young players out on loan last season, I'd say that it's not an assumption. People will come and watch them and then make a decision, we then decide if we want to loan them, we don't force clubs to take them claiming they're amazing. In the case of players going to local sides, we tend to have some form of connection to the club and they're happy to take them because these lads are wanting to play men's football.
The general consensus at the club is that the U23s league is a bit **** and the lads gain far more experience playing men's football where there's actually a competitive element, the U23s calendar often has gaps too which means some of them go weeks without a game. In terms of development, it's far better to be playing and learning than it is to be having a relative kickabout against Crewe reserves.
I always thought it would be a good idea to enter a reserve team into the Humber Premier League (and just not have them get promoted), but I don't think it's allowed, which is odd because at the same level there are other non-league reserve teams across the country.
EDIT: Just looked at the rules, reserve teams can go no higher than Step 6 (which is the Northern Counties East League Division One - the same one that Beverley Town play in now/Ferriby just got promoted out of), but there doesn't appear to be a rule that states a club from the football league can't have a reserve team in non-league.

Words out of my mouthTrue because the Humber Premier League is basically the bottom end of League One/top end of League 2.
That's not how bigger teams with reserve sides in leagues usually works. It would be great experience for our 18s/23s and it would add games to a fairly spacious calender.
I remember when the U23s team from the big clubs joined the FL trophy. The main argument was that they'd win it, yet I don't think anyone's got close.
You'd think Real Madrid Castilla would win the title every year but they don't.
It's obviously not the standard we'd ideally like them at but at least they'd be playing mens football in an environment we can control
Wish him well all the sameHe managed to get out of that habit, just before we got rid.
Wonder what Simon Walton is doing these days.
I can see as the years have passed you’re warming to Walton nowDoing an eight stretch for crimes against football, hopefully.
