Wouldn’t be surprised to see Meyler get a role in the academy.
Although now he has opened his own new training school, I would think that might be unlikely. Would have been great though.Wouldn’t be surprised to see Meyler get a role in the academy.
No role for ash yet?Wouldn’t be surprised to see Meyler get a role in the academy.
Saw a random rumour on Twitter (yeah, I know) that we might be interested in Ebou Adams from Forest Green. Blackpool and Cardiff supposedly interested in him too. Don’t know much about him but going on what Forest Green fans say on Twitter, he’s energetic, likes a tackle and a good passer.
He’d have been a very good signing, Kane Wilson league 2 POTY another who will be picked up for nowt by a championship side and most likely perform.Never mind. He signed for Cardiff on a free today.
Might be worth looking at Dutch midfielders who’ve been in the Youth National team set up because of the Peter Van Der Veen link.Anyone know who the two Dutch league midfielders Shota supposedly wants? Or is it bollocks?
Maybe tied up in his day job?

Not being funny but it would be interesting to know what they all actually do. We've got Rodwell, Darnborough, Arveladze, Van der Veen, Dawson and probably a good few others aswell. I know there's a lot more than just the 1st team to be looked after but it would be interesting, to me at least...If Daws is 1st team coach what does the Dutch guy do is he assistant manager ?

1st team coach basically helps run training and provides tactical feedback during matches. Assistant Manager (PVdV) oversees training with the manager and also provides a second set of eyes during games.
Darnborough is head of recruitment, so he is tasked with building the squad, setting scouting assignments and generally overseeing recruitment at all levels. Chief scout reports to him. The manager tends to request targets be looked at and judged accordingly. LD will act as a go between between Shota and Tan/Rodwell who will pull the purse strings and give the go ahead/say no on potential transfers.
Tan/LD will do contract negotiations, again supplemented by recommendations from the manager, while Rodwell will no doubt oversee the commercial side of the business.
Basically, everything a manager does at lower levels of the pyramid, get slowly delegated the higher up you go. So for every coach/recruitment guy/scout it's one less job for the manager to do so that he can focus on the team.
Richard Naylor is the head of youth development, so he's basically the Youth Team version of Tan Kesler. Neil Sullivan (ex Scotland, Doncaster rovers, Spurs and Leeds) is the head of academy goalkeeping, which probably explains why we have so many good keepers coming through.
John Anderson is the U18s manager, with Billy Clarke (ex Ipswich, Bradford and Grimsby striker) as his assistant. We also have a really good up and coming coach in the U18s called Alex Trukan, who was the assistant manager at Stal Mielec in the Polish top division.
Interesting read, appreciated. How long has Trukan been here then and who brought him in?

Bit surprised if Ash is into that kind or thing...
