I’d still love us to go for Cameron Archer.

I aren't sure they'll let him out and whoever he goes to will have to play him every week.

I actually wouldn't want him to be our main striker signing, not because he's not good, he clearly is but it's such a short term option and it's not like we're going all out for promotion. We trying to build something and signing a player on loan for a season who we've got zero chance of signing permanently just doesn't help that.

I'm guessing Purse strings are a little more flexible for players who could transform us.

As someone else said though I think it's understandable that players like Greaves and Honeyman might be put out when their relatively reasonable demands are snubbed but we go all out for these guys. Anyway, wasn't being entirely serious.

It is understandable that they'd try to hold out for that, and it's also understandable that the club will be aware of the risk of giving everyone what they want and ending up with an enormous wage bill, so it's simply a question of what we can get these players to agree to. It is a tricky situation, when you're suddenly paying so much more overnight and everyone involved knows it.

Yeah for sure, it's why I think I said that the club is probably counting on guys like Greaves, Honeyman etc. accepting slightly less out of 'loyalty' but that doesn't always work. I know I'd rather give Greaves, say, another 5k a week to take him to 20k a week above our 15k offer (all completely made up figures) than give Seri another 10k a week to take him to 50k from 40k. Beyond simply the fact it's twice as much. Again all made up so I don't know the figures we're talking but feels like we're holding out on much smaller figures and splashing out on larger sums.

So in a 4-3-3 with the imminent/current signings, which is what we think we will be playing under Shota:

-------------Baxter/Ingram------------

Coyle----Greaves---Figueiredo----Fleming

----------------------Seri--------------------

--------------Tufan---------Traore---------

Allahyar--------Muriqi---------KLP (if he stays)

With Emmanuel, Slater, Macca, Jones, Longman, Scott, and Doc off the bench.

And that's before any more are announced/sought after.

NGL, that already looks pretty damn good.

I mean it's somewhat different, Seri was meant to sign for Barcelona a few years ago. His stock has fallen a lot at Fulham but it'd be a huge signing.

I'd still like another midfielder with a bit of height though

How do you know that their demands are relatively reasonable? As I've said previously today, Greaves is a fantastic talent with huge potential but he's not on the level of the players we have signed so far and can't even start to demand contracts near their level yet. His time to earn huge money will almost certainly come. But it isn't just yet.

Yeah I'd want another attacking mid to not only replace Honeyman but also be the stand in for Traore since it sounds like he'll be a bit slow getting up to speed, and another striker to rotate with Muriqi when needed (suppose that could be Ally) but it is looking promising.

I used the word 'relatively' to indicate that what they're asking for relative to someone like Seri is miniscule. I understand that on a player by player basis they may be asking substantially more than they're worth but I'd be a bit surprised if that were the case, particularly for Greaves. If he's asking for as much as Seri is on that's just silly, and I doubt he's doing that.

Bench is obviously the major weakness but it's looking extremely promising.

That midfield will be delightful

That's not a bad team already, bench needs a little more IMO though and I think we will see Emmanuel start at RB

I think we're looking at another AM, definitely after another striker.

In other news, Peterborough have asked for Scott on loan, nothing decided until later in the Summer as Shota wants a look at him. Ditto Williams.

Interesting that Grant backs himself to get the best out of Scott given he didn't do much in his last L1 season.

Looking at their signings, they seem pretty skint. I'm shocked he hasn't gone for Wilks, Doch and Elder

Seen a few of their fans saying that they'll need to sell to satisfy FFP.

JCH was linked with Watford today

They’re wanting £5m for him I think, Forest look to be getting Burrows and Palace trying for Ronnie Edwards

Palace are playing the market incredibly well
