40m bloody hell
Apparently it was £35m plus add ons.

He had stated that he is willing to stay at Swansea and they would be relegated without him so is about what he is worth to them.

Kinda wish we didn't bid that as now everyone else knows what we are willing to pay...

... they already know that buddy ... the owners have made no secret of it ...

Apparently we haven't made a bid for George Thomas - he has been left out the Coventry squad for their preseason trip to Spain but is apparently due to insurance reasons though.

... Ranieri did way more than take on a team "already flowing with confidence" John ... we were amongst the favourites to be relegated at the start of the season - whilst the "great escape" was phenomenal, we need to keep that in perspective too. We only played one of the top 6 in that 9 game run, Chelseas, and we lost 3-1. Ranieri put his faith in players that would not have been exactly flowing in confidence in Vardy, Drinky and Simpson and made them almost guaranteed starters - Vardy, crucially, as the focal striker rather than as a wide left option as he had been the season before. Ranieri's record against the top clubs, Arsenal aside, was quite incredible - and down to his tactical nous.
Not faulting him at all for the title winning season. I was mainly correcting the incorrect comment that he was responsible for the great escape that we can agree on <laugh>
I also lost my faith in him last year as we know but he cannot be faulted for the title season. All I mean was that they were already confident but I've always stuck by Raneiri as far as agreeing nobody else would have achieved what he achieved. Perfect manager at the perfect time

The Mirror is reporting that we will complete Iheanacho deal this week but have also made Islam Slimani available ... who knows?
Unfortunately can see him leaving as he is a #9 and we are about to sign another one in Iheanacho.

Maybe this is the reason Ulloa has been offered a new deal?

Musa has been spotted training in the number 13 training shirt instead of his previously assigned 7 - the current wearer of the number 13 is Amartey who wore number 18.

Could be in indication of Musa dropping down the pecking order. Could equally mean nothing at all.

Getting silly now. Cracking player but not worth more than 30m to the buying club
(Though granted, he is priceless to Swansea)
Encouraging that we are willing to be so ambitious though and willing to pay such a fee.

Since the dedicated thread about Iheanacho has become a hilarious pissing contest, I'll post this here:

Man City have offered him in a player + cash deal for Kyle Walker and Spurs are open to it as they want to get rid of Janssen.

If true then bugger - even though it would have been a glorified loan, I would have liked to see him and Vardy together.

If this deal works at the same speed that Spuds were chasing us down to try and win the title, then Nacho will be signed for us before Levy has even considered the offer <whistle>

Apparently we haven't given up on Jonny Evans and will be lodging another bid for him - in the meantime we look to have cooled our interest in Kara Mbodji and he looks to be joining Palace.

Also the £40M bid for Sigurdsson was apparently made weeks ago - apparently he would prefer to move to Everton as well so we have cooled on that transfer as well http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/l...i-sigurdsson/story-30432782-detail/story.html

Would explain why we since made an offer for Deeney.

Rumours are that we are after Eldin Jakupovic again - tbh I would prefer Ali Al Habsi or Sam Johnstone who we were linked with at one point but for a backup he can do the job.

Roma are reportedly interesting in Mahrez - apparently we will be willing to negotiate with a foreign team.

We are also close to signing Oxford United left winger Marvin Johnson for £2M - bit steep for a 26yr old L1 player but market is stupid atm. Not sure what that will mean for Gray who has been promised more game time.

Hopefully make Demarai realise that he needs to have a consistent end product ... would be good to have, Gray, Lawrence, Albrighton and this lad competing for the wide berths ... we need real competition for every position <ok>
