About wages, I have the same feeling. People keep saying we cleared high-earners, Seri, Tufan, Oscar. Do we actually know how much we are paying for current players, currently salary expectations seems like player fame/reputation correlation in people's mind, but reality could be different.
Who do you pay the most for? What position?

To be fair whilst I agree with you I reckon 90% is about right for the amount of people in the World in any profession that would go elsewhere for more money. Why would you stay at Tesco if Sainsbury offer you an extra 3k?

Well if I could work in Tesco at Sheringham over Sainsburys at Fosse park I'd take a pay cut

Well it's clear but I don't know where you've got it from.

We don't seem to be trying to do anything on the cheap. We've paid some decent fees and we wanted to spend more so I don't see any reason to believe we've cut what we're offering in wages. We seem to have excess money that we tried to spend but couldn't get anyone to take it.

People offering and paying more and us not matching/going above doesn't mean we have "cut". We are just being more careful/sensible. In hindsight, should we have really pushed the boat out and matched 1 of the offers to maybe get a deal over the line, possibly and then what's to say that doesn't just start a price war in the wrong direction and there's only one winner in that case.....sometimes you just have to stick to a budget/ceiling. Time will tell us if it was the right decision or not.

I honestly think you're trying really hard to make/push a narrative that just isn't there.

I don’t believe that for one minute
Players move because the agent persuades them to via financial encouragement
Some cases a player will move nearer to home etc or at the end of their career

I see zaha didn’t enjoy turkey!
Brilliant player but why go there?
Oh ye money

Except players like Carvahlo expressed it was Liam that persuaded him to come to us.

I think "the brain team" massively underestimated how hard it would be to persuade players to come to us.

Losing out on these players isn't just one of those things it's a massive failure on those who's job it isvto persuade them that coming to us is the right thing to do

They’ve just signed 15 players, some of real pedigree. We failed to get another striker, that happened under Rosenior too

It looks like almost as many players turned us down.
I'm not going down the Rosenior was our saviour route (that's another debate) more when they got rid they should have a plan on attracting new players rather than just bid and hope for the best

That’s a completely separate issue though Marv, absolutely agree with you there.

We didn’t have issues attracting players, we did have issues bringing in them in quickly enough for them to settle and not have to write off 4 games essentially.

All brilliant bands (ABBA) aside though I have a couple of ABBA albums in my collection it’s just not for me.
Oasis are brilliant band though the later albums are obviously not as great when comparing them to the first two albums and the early B-Sides.
Good to have them back and I hope we get an album.

Like them or not you cannot say ABBA were not a brilliant band. Like a lot more when I was younger I didn’t think it was cool to like them but as time goes by I appreciate the musicianship, production and the quality vocals and harmonising. You don’t sell the amount they have and continue to attract the attention they do over 40 years after splitting up.

Never liked Oasis, an age thing I suppose, although both my lads did.
