Really can't understand from your posts what you think is the reason we couldn't attract players this window like we could in the previous two.

You seem to be very passionate that it isn't anything to do with the change of manager but unclear on what it is down to.
Are you thick?

<laugh> You've just posted a list of some of the biggest selling artists of all time and Oasis are on that list, though The Kinks aren't (Oasis have sold 50% more records than The Kinks).

They still aren’t amongst the biggest sellers of all time. They didn’t crack America. Neither did the Kinks after they were banned because Ray Davies, who had a notoriously short temper, decked a promoter,

Football is not a lifetime job, especially at lower levels most players reach only 3-4 years rich contracts. So obiously money is the biggest decider without a doubt.
To be fair whilst I agree with you I reckon 90% is about right for the amount of people in the World in any profession that would go elsewhere for more money. Why would you stay at Tesco if Sainsbury offer you an extra 3k?

Oasis have sold relatively little compared to others, especially the Beatles, Stones, Abba, Led Zep, Queen,The Who, Kinks and loads of others.

All brilliant bands (ABBA) aside though I have a couple of ABBA albums in my collection it’s just not for me.
Oasis are brilliant band though the later albums are obviously not as great when comparing them to the first two albums and the early B-Sides.
Good to have them back and I hope we get an album.

No one can argue that it was the correct decision really, from a footballing standpoint it made no sense.

However

Acun bought into a narrative that a lot of home fans shared. That we were slow and boring to watch. He is trying to move us away from playing a style of football that everyone is trying to do. Pep ball, have complete control of the game and hope your players can produce some magic in the final third. Form a new identity different from what a lot are doing, whether that pays off is still up in the air, but the game needs some differentiation now. Without the endless pits of money Man City have, I think that style will always fall short, especially at our level.

I'll argue, it wasn't the boring football that got Rosie sacked. We were in the top six at the January transfer window, Acun brought in a load of better players and we got worse. Final game still in with a chance of a play off place and didn't even try to win the game.
Those better players mostly have moved to Premier league teams for loads of money which shows how good they were and how we as a team under performed.

as we are seeing now, you can’t just throw a bunch of players together and expect them to be able to perform.

we’ve had one of the easier openings on paper but the 4 teams we’ve played have all had little to no turnover. Leeds played with 9/11 players who were there last season, Millwall had 10/11, Plymouth 10/11 and Bristol was 9/11.

Ours was 6/11 really as Pandur is only just playing his first competitive games.

Plus
Delap got injured end of december out till rest of season basically
Seri went to afcon and ended up winning it the legend
He was gone for a month essentially
Philo got injured and took ahwile to get back up to speed
Connolly had 8 goals then went awol from january

As someone who is good friends with an agent and having signed plenty of players in another sport Money is pretty much the only factor in about 90% of the cases. You get the odd player who wants to join up with an old gaffer or desperate for first team football but the vast majority will go where the money is. They have a short earning window and if someone is offering them £2000 a week more they will go almost certainly. I dont blame them either. They might say the right things on arrival but they dont really care about the club or its fans. Once they are gone they are forgotten. Tom Eaves was great with my kids outside the stadium but I bet he hardly gives us a second thought now.

I am sure Lewie Coyle would take a pay cut to stay with City but I reckon there isnt another player in the squad who would even consider it if the same money was on the table elsewhere.
Didn’t Kevin Kilbane take a pay cut when times were tough?

I'm really happy with the window. We often played last year without a striker so no problem. Bedia will play up top and be a star..I have foreseen it..we have competition and back up all across the squad. We have had a great window (well. 2 weeks). Now let's see them rip TWS apart to win my 10/1 bet

But we didn't score enough goals last season and had to play with a false 9 due to lack of a proper striker.

Striker is the most important position and yet again the one we've failed yet again to fill properly. We were constantly told that if Oscar goes he will be replaced. We are now praying that are 2 strikers come good and they don't have any injuries.

Is it coincidence that last season we seemed to be beating other clubs to signing wanted players but this season seem to be constantly losing out

Well it's clear but I don't know where you've got it from.

We don't seem to be trying to do anything on the cheap. We've paid some decent fees and we wanted to spend more so I don't see any reason to believe we've cut what we're offering in wages. We seem to have excess money that we tried to spend but couldn't get anyone to take it.

About wages, I have the same feeling. People keep saying we cleared high-earners, Seri, Tufan, Oscar. Do we actually know how much we are paying for current players, currently salary expectations seems like player fame/reputation correlation in people's mind, but reality could be different.
