Yeah.I’m shocked at that. From (a fading) memory, I thought Greaves and Jones were almost ever present! Can’t recall us playing three at the back either.
Won’t Burns be ahead of him in the pecking order post international break?

Probably Greaves suspensions and stint at Left back.

Every year under Acun's ownership we've been short on wingers. I just don't get it and while I like Palmer, we just don't need him. Your sweet shop analogy is bang on
It’s been near night and day in the opening 3 league games with 2 natural wingers on the pitch v 1. I really hope we get 2 today, would be very underwhelming with just 1

Ah ok, the suspension was only couple of games, and I was sure him playing left back was the previous season? Must be my fading memory.
As we have left backs now, that ain’t gonna happen again, so he won’t get anywhere near twenty odd games in this season.

We sign players because we can, not because we should. In nearly every transfer window under Acun we end up signing more technical attacking mids than we need and few proper wingers so the manager feels compelled to play attacking mids as wingers. We’ve had it with Tufan, Traoré, Pelkas, Twine, Carvalho and now Ömür all being shunted onto the wing at various times for various reasons.

Playing [HASHTAG]#10s[/HASHTAG] out wide can sometimes work, depending on the style of play, but even Guardiola has seemingly ****ed this concept off and has gone back to having two quick, direct wingers in Doku and Savinho on the wings.

From what I saw of Hamburg under Walter, once the build-up from the back had been successful, the emphasis was to play forward passes to explosive wingers like Dompé, Jatta and Königsdörffer who would run at the the opposition defence and attack quickly.

I don’t think we will get Canon. Now looking for a loan and ideally wants to be with a club pushing for promotion. A loan doesn’t suit us and it would be hard to sell us as promotion candidates right now.

I'm pretty sure your memory is right. Can't see how McLoughlin got 23 starts last season. Is that right?
