I saw Man City play in person last season. I was looking forward to seeing Foden, Haaland and De Bruyne in person. I left in awe at Rodri.

He wanted and took the ball all the time. Even with a player on his back he wanted it, took the ball and just held off his opponents, before playing an accurate pass. He sniffed out danger time and time again, and just got Man City on the attack.

Meffert isn’t exactly this but he would be our Championship version.
Based on what? How many times have you seen him play?
He may be a decent player but as good as that? Hmm

He’s absolutely nowhere near that level but it’s the role he has fulfilled successfully for Hamburg. I can’t say I’ve seen much of him other than online clips but basing my comments on that and also comments made by people who have seen him play extensively.

A lot of the lateness in the window is simply down to player availability as well. This year with the Euros, Copa America as well that has been elongated a bit, the good Prem youngsters will likely only be made available this week. There’s a lot of clubs in a similar position to us.
Last seasons transfers or lack of permanent ones have cost us this year. Many on here said it, it was a very short sighted approach from Acun which banked on us going up.

As you said, with the amount of permanent transfers this window we'll be in a much stronger position this time next year.

It's even clearer now from what Acun said to Baz he expected with the signings last season both loan and permanent that we got into the play-offs, and Liam lost his job because of it. He has a point though, Carvalho, Zaroury as well as Jaden and Greaves have moved to first division teams, but unfortunately it didn't happen.

#HSV has just uploaded this message from today's training session with a radiant Jonas Meffert, a clear sign that our "metronome" in the midfield will not be moving in these last hours of the transfer market. What's more, I would even bet on an extension of his contract...

…does this work for you?

As far as I can see from what has been posted by Hamburg on Twitter from their managers press conference, he hasn’t mentioned Meffert at all.

…let’s see if Walter says anything (or winks).

Why didn’t you say it was an archaeology professor
That changes everything

Meffert is your typical holding midfielder. Won’t do anything pretty will just keep us ticking but will do the dirty work primarily. Smallwood esque you’d think, which by our fan bases standards will mean he’s one to be scapegoated
