I'd love for you to talk us through your knowledge of Ecuadorean football that led you to the conclusion Zambrano won't add much. I've never seen him play so all I can go on is the previous interest from PL teams, but if you've seen a few of his games then I'll bow to your greater knowledge.

I have only watched 3 full games of his and quite a few highlights when we first heard we was interested for real, and if he has the freedom here he had a Quito then i think he will bring more than just a bit to the team i know the championship is alot quicker but he looks like he would definately cope once settled in i for one am really looking forward to him playing especially with someone like Hughes behind him with the way he plays.

In fairness, while our business has been slow, it has been fantastic.

We haven’t had the glitz and glamour of Philogene, Carvalho and Zaroury, but what we have had is really well thought out players with further potential growth in areas we need.

Christie had lost his legs, Drameh brings not only competition for Coyle but a likely upgrade once he’s up and running.

With the Greaves money we have bought a younger Greaves with as much (if not more) potential to make it big in the Premier League.

Zambrano is finally our Smallwood replacement, who, if for not taking an allergy medicine after eating shellfish, would be likely lining up in a Premier League Squad - probably not Man Utd, but I’m sure Brighton or Luton would have followed up with their interest.

I feel Acun is lying in waiting for the dying embers of the transfer window before he pulls out the razzmatazz and brings in a stonker of a striker. This, tied in with some more excellent loans will see an unrecognisable squad to the one we started the season with.

Im looking forward to seeing what Walter can do with this squad. Hopefully starting with his first win on Saturday!

Another thing I like is that we are finally signing players on longer contracts and those players are younger than who they are replacing ie Tufan, Seri (probably) or a good age (all four who are arriving this week).

And irrespective of how these players do, it's a longer term strategy.

hopefully

£2m loan fee? Ridiculous. Glad we have missed out on him.

I would have really liked him to come here especially after trying for 18 months for him but at them costs and not even a permanent and can be recalled then they can shove it , would not swap for any of the signings we have made now.

They also replaced Tufan with Mehlem who looks a tidy player. He’s only just finding his feet, but if he keeps progressing I feel we’ll have a player who may not reach the heights of Tufan’s brilliance but someone who will deliver more consistently.

‘Tufan’s brilliance’

<laugh>

Come off it, he was ****.

He doesn’t look too happy to be here, looks like he’s going to burst into tears! Here at last, hopefully the best things are worth waiting for.

From a new City player to ex City, many congratulations to Jarrod Bowen, new West Ham Captain. Fantastic progression for him. <applause><applause>
Can you post your non-city stuff elsewhere and not clutter up this Trasnfer thread please :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Agree, Walter has really done a great job. Acun still needs to be held to account for the shambles that was pre season though.
If we are top ten by the end of August and have 2 strikers and another winger is that still a shambles? As it stands we have a good chance of 4 points from 6 in the league by tomorrow and the squad is starting to look like it has the depth in several areas. All of that and potentially a few million in the bank to have a real dig again next transfer window.

Not impossible to think we beat Milwall too in game 3.
