He is far better than Tyler smith in my humble opinion, Tyler runs like a headless chicken and for me doesn’t feel a confident footballer. But this lad I think will be a success here, give him some love and reap the rewards… remember this post !!!
Jeez, I would hope he is!
One of the poorest I've seen for us over the decades. Some said he's only young but will get better. He hasn't !! ....
2023Oxford United (loan) 7 (0)
2023– Bradford City 38 (5)
He wasn't even quick. Was it Howson, who at 34 /35 left him for dead.
This Mason Burstow must have something about him for Chelsea to have picked him up and given him a couple of PL starts.
Hopefully it's a bit like with Delap, in that we reap the benefit of him cutting his teeth at Charlton then Sunderland.

That 3-year deal was in summer 22 when we committed to several long-term deals we'd later regret. Fleming had been playing really well and people saw it as smart to tie him down at the time, but in hindsight it wasn't pragmatic. A few months later he was totally out of the picture.

I think the 3 year deal was under Slutsky? (which was slightly less than his original contract - but the 3 year deal was for longer)
He was playing really well linking up with Greaves and KLP, just never seemed to fit with following managers...
Was with the club from a very young age and originally defensive or attacking midfielder, before moving to defence, where possibly his height did not help as he got older.
Good luck to him.

It was Shota who was manager when he got that deal, though I do wonder how much involvement Shota had in anything going on that summer.

Because unless we are in for another LB we are now left with Giles and Jacob

Think it was always those two realistically. Fleming was never going to be in the picture. If Giles goes we'll presumably sign another one.

Mason Burstow story. Very humble with a tough upbringing.

Good luck Mason.

Wow! That was a tear jerker. Wish nothing but best of luck, good wishes to Mason, he certainly will have enormous mental resilience/strengths. I hope he can find the love & support that he craves & deserves from our Hull City family. To be honest, I don’t give a fig about opinions from Sunderland, historically they’ve not got a good track record on opinions on a number of our ex players! What matters is the here and now, and the part we can play in settling & supporting him for mutual benefit. UTT

I think fleming had that adrenaline younger plays often have when first starting
You dont feal any fear about mistakes
Etc
But keeping it going can be very tough
As syd said
