I wonder what our contingency is if we can’t sign Charlie Hughes. There are a few ball-playing, left-sided centre-halves in European leagues but we need to move fast as other clubs are signing them. Emirhan Topçu has just joined Beşiktaş today from Çaykur Rizespor after a very good season. There’s growing interest in Albian Hajdari from Italian clubs and he’s valued at around €6 million. Anselmo García MacNulty at PEC Zwolle is very highly-rated and an Ireland under-21 international. Played most of last season at left-back but is a centre-half by trade. Leeds are apparently interested in him. If we wanted to go down the Turkish route, there’s also Yasin Özcan at Kasımpaşa.
Do you know much about league 1 ?
There must be some decent upcoming Center backs etc in there

Charlie Hughes is the pick of the bunch and a level above any other centre-half in League One. I think Hughes is better than Ronnie Edwards (just moved to Southampton from Peterborough) and has more potential.

Aside from that, there’s also Tyler Bindon at Reading. He’s only 19-years-old but he’s a full New Zealand international and made 44 appearances for Reading last season in all competitions. He’s also a ball-playing centre-half and very comfortable on the ball. We’ll probably see him play in the friendly tomorrow.

EDIT: we probably won’t see Tyler Bindon tomorrow as he’s been playing for New Zealand in the Olympics and played against France on Tuesday. Oh well.

I really hope we get Hughes I said about him ages ago being the pick of the bunch. Ronnie Edwards sometimes struggles to defend the box whereas Hughes is dominant in every aspect of his game

“The thing about Óscar Zambrano has been talked about for more than a year. Now there is a situation where he leaves the country.”

“It is still not one hundred percent sure that Óscar Zambrano will leave the squad. If there is the possibility, it will happen or not. Anything can happen.”

A couple more interesting translations

"There is two million debt with television rights. The lawsuit is being handled by Liga Pro and we hope that this situation is resolved. Most likely, we will have an answer on Wednesday."

“The debt for television rights has made it very difficult for us as a club. Plugging that money gap is not easy. There are several clubs that are in a precarious situation.”

i.e. they're brassic

These numerous titty bars of which you speak Vern?

How many tittys do you need to get in?

I could easily demonstrate to a doorperson that I’ve got 2.

But I’m not cancelling Gran Can if numerous essentially means 3 or more.
Well Ernest, without going into the details all I can say is the aforementioned bars are a rare treat and worth a visit.

I imagine that is the situation a lot of clubs in these sorts of leagues find themselves in. Even in European leagues like Eredivisie, most of them don’t have a pot to piss in with the exception of the historic big clubs like Ajax, Feyenoord and PSV (and to a lesser extent AZ Alkmaar and FC Twente). The rest are operating on League One budgets.
