To be clear, the removal of concessions and other aspects of the membership scheme absolutely were not good. I just meant that the change to a monthly fee instead of a season was a good idea. The annual admin effort of renewing everyone was costly and it's always a job to convince people to pay up again. Now the default is that you continue as a member indefinitely. You have to actually go and tell them if you want to stop being one, and the club doesn't have to ask you to renew. This is the dream scenario for companies which is why everyone wants you to sign up for their subscription service these days.
A like for the reply but not the content
We've / he's been expecting "new faces" for some time now and all we've seen materialise is Drameh. And now he's saying not until days after the next friendly.
This is getting a bit silly now. I'm still keeping the faith but its hard not to have some concern. I've spoken with a few recently who have pretty much lost faith and are really questioning what the heck is going on (from the very concerned to those jumping to wild hopefully wrong conclusions). I don't agree with them but it's getting harder to counter. 20 out with only 1 new face in (NB new face). I would have thought they'd be at least a couple before Tuesday but seems not. If at least a couple don't arrive by the weekend do we start to question more? Hopefully we don't have to.
Which means new players will have one friendly, only possibly, to gel with teammates before the season starts

Of all the players linked this summer, admittedly theres not many, he's the one I want most. Seems ideal for our system and at an age where he'll only get better
Two things immediately sprang to mind after that interview:
1) Why hasn't Acun come out and explained anything?
2) Why book high profile friendlies against top opposition in Fenerbahce, Newcastle and Fiorentina only to have Ryan Longman play up front and a load of kids running about?
If the way we are conducting this transfer window was indeed planned, then why didn't we just play the likes of Scunthorpe, Boston and Cleethorpes? What difference has it made in terms of planning and tuning the system?
Acun has said nothing because I think he’s leaving Tan to it. I’m 50/50 whether or not he rocks up to the Bristol city game
I think he will, but I hadn't realised he had been so quiet when he's usually very vocal about stuff. It might be that he is on holiday or doing Fener stuff, but it would be nice for the fans to get some reassurance with two weeks to go.
Tan hasn't said much either outside of a couple of quick, cryptic interviews which is also unusual.
I think the Newcastle friendly is well planned. Playing against the best pressing side whilst trying to learn Tims unique playing out style will stand us in good stead
Two very good points. I imagine he’s frustrated about missing out on targets and things have just taken longer than expected. The big test will be who lines up for that Reading friendly and then the first game. Ideally, the manager will want as close to the same team as possible for good practice. That will mean at least 2-3 players in before the week is up. Let’s see what happens.
I wouldn't bet on it. Fenerbache play the same day at home. Regarding silence the club do seem to have suddenly decided to be quiet. I would hope its out of sensibility. Patience is wearing thin though.
Well Tim seems confident that there'll be at least 2 in by the Reading game, the Hughes one is looking less likely by the minute now that PL clubs are involved, which is a shame but inevitable once bigger clubs join the fight.
Also, Baz was at the stadium for the friendly as he recorded a podcast episode on Youtube, is he on holiday at home? Or is he back?
Hmmm maybe, though the new manager's first home game in the league? Live on Sky?
I hope he is. If he isn't then I know a lot would ask questions. Hopefully this week we start seeing the incomings and they answer the questions
Nothing official bids wise for Hughes from Prem clubs, must be itching closer if he’s declaring himself not fit for a game.
