After the January signings didn't Tan come out and say yes its a push for play offs but it's not essential and if we don't get it next season will be the big push

Yep. Acun too. Both talking about patience and not always going up straight away. I'm sure in that interview Acun did recently where he said he wouldn't sell Jaden for 30m he said something along those lines.
The paragraph in the club statement suggests there is something being worked on.

I don't think he's lying, I just don't think he had any idea this was going to happen.
It’s not an immediate concern as the players don’t report back for pre season until June 7th ish and are on holiday/sorting their own futures/watching the Euros/playing at the Euros. So it leaves us a few weeks to get somebody in and get them settled for the players coming back.

Id suggest with the scale of the rebuild that approaches need to be made asap.
Oh the manager being picked will already have been done. If the bloke coming in knew he was taking over, he’ll already have a list of players ready.

Quite possibly, and hope that's the case in the sense that it would make his comments genuine, but I also hope that Acun isn't making a decision like that without consideration and discussion with Tan.
Same person that always did since he bought the club. Acun.the bloke who hires, fires and signs the cheques.

What on earth? Acun is not making list retention issues and (hopefully) never has. Tan would be in charge of that.
As I posted on your Twitter that for me is more worrying. As either he wasn't consulted or worse it was a spare of the moment decision.
If both of those scenarios it makes a mockery of the idea we have some big shot manager already lined up as Tan would absolutely need to be in the loop on that.
Best case we can hope for is that Tan is a good liar.
