It works the other way as well though. Leicester need to sell Cannon and the closer we get to deadline the more they’ll come down (hopefully)
I’m sure we will have been operating in it, in terms of making bids. Just some clubs will have been in a position to play hard ball with us. Some, we persevered and they came off eventually, others just didn’t come off. I suspect without the early sales and having the reddies available, we wouldn’t have been able to do so.
Though some are questioning it, I suspect the brain team are actually canny operators in terms of getting deals done.
Let's not exaggerate.
Fact is, we don't know what goes on, and there's always more factors than just pure money at play with transfers.
I'm with Acun on this, and I'd guess most people are; infact, many were calling for the club to sell them early, to just get on with it, as it was inevitable they were both going (Jaden and Jacob).
I do agree though that it's not great to appear to be scrambling around on the final day for key signings still. Then again, I doubt it's through lack of trying

Tension is always high on deadline day isn’t it? This thread will easily make the 1000 pages because of this.
I think we are in for a busy day as a club and after the success last year in terms of bringing players on, we will acquire a lot more than people expect.
Hopefully we can be a step ahead on here than Sky Sports News so we can see how the footballing world reacts.
I suspect by the time we see it though, we’ll have had to read through pages and pages of arguing and insults.

Sounds clear we've tried to lure at least 1 or 2 quality strikers beyond those listed ('big name' was a phrase used - YVoH and all that), but unfortunately the bids have been rebuffed because the player decided against it, the club weren't willing to sell / loan, or whatever.
Cannon’s future has seemed up in the air, but with several bids lodged in the last week or so, it did seem likely he would leave the King Power permanently.
Sunderland pulled out of the Cannon race yesterday after lodging a £5m bid earlier this week, whilst Sheffield United, Stoke City and Luton Town were said to be interested with a £7m price-tag mentioned.
Elsewhere, Hull City reportedly launched a seven-figure bid this week, but despite this it has now been claimed the striker would prefer a loan exit today.
