I think he’d have said the same regardless, if Barca are interested then a few other teams may think “we better have a look”
Leeds have sold Archie Gray to Spurs for £30m, he has less experience and isn’t as consistent as Greaves, should help with the negotiations should we let Greaves go.
Just read that Karamoko Dembele was released by Brest despite having a contract until 2026, strange one considering the season he had at Blackpool. Absolutely worth a punt I think.
I think there's a Leeds tax with their young players. They always seem to be more hyped than anyone else's. It's an outrageous fee they've got; seen it reported as high as £40m in some places with Rodon also going the other way. Mental. He might be amazing, or he might be the next Fabian Delph, Lewis Cook, Jack Clark etc who were all equally hyped up before going on to be decent Premier League players at best.
Yeah and I was already hoping we we're having a look at him at that price. Imagine we brought in him and Willock without spending a penny in transfer fees.
I don't see how the two can be related at all. Gray has only just turned 18, yet has played a full season for a top 4 side. It's pretty rare and he looks a top player. 18 year olds playing every week for any side in the Championship is rare, never mind for one of the better sides and the fee reflects his potential. It's a good deal for Spurs, especially as they've got £10m for Rodon who was worth about £2/3m 12 months ago
Ye spurs have taken the plunge for.his potential He could go to the very top And if so itll be a bargain
I just checked, before I asked, if he was related to Eddie, turns out, it’s his great nephew & Frank Gray’s Grandson. I assume the football talent skipped a generation there.
It does... He is the son of Andy Gray, and Giorgina. He is one of four brothers. He is also the grandson of Frank Gray, and the great nephew of Eddie Gray, all of whom played for Leeds United and represented Scotland at international level. His brother Harry also plays for the Leeds United academy.
Age gets decent money sometimes without the performance to back it up. Greaves has both which is why we absolutely shouldn’t be accepting £15m would be terrible business. West Ham closing in on Max Kilman, might be them out the race
Baz was saying he wouldn't be surprised if Greaves stayed for another year. If he did it would present a great opportunity to increase his value if he takes to Walters style which I would fully expect him to do.
