If it were £40m (not euros) might be enough.

Yeah I would probably take that too (with the option of a buy-back or hefty sell-on clause).

Balogun £40m, Pepe £10m and Partey £30m out... Caicedo in. Net cost of £0 and a huge salary saving. Bantz for Chelshit. Do it.

Think we will have to sell to balance the incomings.
£80m sales brings our net spend down to £120m

Havertz more of a leader than I realised by the sounds of this thread:

If Partey leaves, Mohammed Kudus could be the £40m replacement. Arsenal hierarchy also appreciate him for his versatility.

How about Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentia ? He's been brilliant for them and for the Morocco national team. Think Utd have shown an interest in him too

Could probably get Amrabat for around £30m-£35m

I would take him, but doesn’t seem like we’re concretely linked to him. Feel like he’ll end up at United.

Meant to be very highly rated. But I guess any further signings will be dependent on sales.

Honestly, I would take any fee for Cedric. Any fee at all. Even if it’s less than £1m. Just get him off the wage bill for good.

Partey looking like he's staying now. Good. Unless he's genuinely a wrong un in which case get rid. But Partey, Rice, Odegaard up there with best in the world midfields.

Howveer.... Ederson, Akanji, Dias, Gvardiol behind Stones and Rodri is easily the most impressive defensive lineup ever seen I think. Urgh.

Great news in terms of our title bid.

    Partey - DM
    Jorginho - DM
    Rice - DM /No.8
    Odegaard - AMF
    Zinchenko - LB/CM
    ESR - AMF/LW
    Viera - AMF/RW
    Trossard - AMF/LW/RW/No.9
    Haverts - AMF/LW/RW/No.9
    That's some quality midfield options.

If we are talking Defensive solidity...

    White-----Saliba-------Gabriel-------Zinchenko
    -----Odegaard----Partey-----Rice-----------------

That would not leak many goals and would still leave: Timber, Tomiyasu, Jorginho to come on.

Blows my mind that so many clubs are interested in Cedric, but I'm not complaining <laugh>. Get him gone by any means necessary.

My only worry is his £100k a week wages proving to be a problem.

I'm beginning to worry about our striker options for this season.

Jesus is brilliant when he's on form, but he can cut a frustrated figure at times when it's not going for him. And I think he needs competition for that spot, which Nketiah and Balogun don't really offer.

If we could do it, I would sell both Nketiah and Balogun. If we could get somewhere near £70m-£80m for the pair of them, then that's a sizeable chunk towards a top quality replacement.

Victor Osimhen anyone ? I know he wouldn't be cheap but he's rumoured to be keen to come to the PL. I guess we're looking at £150m+ for him ?

I agree that I don’t think either Balogun or Nketiah will propel us to securing a title, and in an ideal world, we’d sell both to get Osimhen. But not gonna happen IMO. I think Balogun will be sold because he’s the more saleable asset and will get more money for him. Inter will pay around £40m+ for Balogun, but we won’t get that at all for Nketiah.

My guess is we are going to rely on goals being distributed through the entire team again like last season. Which is never a bad thing, however, it always helps to have a clinical forward up front.

Osimhen would be the difference that could bag us the title, but it would be such a difficult one to get over the line. I just hope he doesn’t end up at Utd, would rather see them get Kane, although ideally the later will go to Bayern

Id just like to see us have another option up front. I guess we could use Havertz up there as more of a target man, but that’s never really been his game.

Maybe somebody like Ivan Toney. I know his banned atm; but that could mean a cheap transfer and one that I reckon he would be up for. Could probs get him for around £20m

Before the whole betting scandal, Toney would have secured a move away from Brentford this Summer IMO. He'd be perfect for us. In addition to his reliability at scoring goals, he's an excellent technician, can hold the ball up with his back to goal, dangerous in the air, has incredible accuracy from set-pieces (penalties and free-kicks) and is very mobile too. He can also play multiple systems and in different styles.

This is the footballing profile Arteta loves. My only caveat is I'm not sure if him being banned has put a potential move in jeopardy because Arteta cares a lot about a player's character and personality before buying them. He may feel discouraged after what Toney did. But you never know, I hope we do get him. Think £20m won't happen though, he's still Brentford's best player by far and they won't let him go easily.

You have to say if we did.. We would probably win the league this Season.
