Hmm weird one. Turner seems like a decent second choice keeper. Not sure Raya would be happy as Ramsdales understudy.
I think it would be a shrewd move if Arteta pulls it off, because I think Ramsdale needs some competition. Don’t get me wrong I love him as our keeper, but I think he needs somebody pushing him for that no1 spot to keep him sharp and on his toes.
I saw some ‘ITKs’ say that internally not everyone at the club is fully convinced Ramsdale should be the #1 goalkeeper for the foreseeable future. Maybe they have a point? Raya won’t be cheap and he won’t be coming here to sit on the bench. With Turner in talks over a permanent move to Nottingham Forest, we must be expecting him to be replacing Ramsdale in the starting XI. For what it’s worth, I wouldn’t have thought this would be a priority position that needs reinforcing, but I guess the club have a different idea.

Yeah but we will still have to be pay a big lump sum to get rid which isn’t ideal. Even if it’s just £5m - £10m, I’d prefer to get a tiny fee to make our books look a little bit healthier. We spent £72m on this guy, recouping nothing at all would be a grave disappointment.
