I was gonna say I doubt he is exactly chomping at the bit to come here, not if Utd and Arsenal were interested. If he has another good season at PSV then he will get a better move. Sign for us and he’s locked down for the next 2-3 years.
Just checked this and actually between sales, loans expiring and contracts expiring, there’s 13 players who left the club. They also sent 10 of their younger squad players out on loan. The club were down 23 players before any incomings. Remarkably, they will probably need to sign a couple more.

This. If the player had no interest at all we wouldn't waste our time submitting bids.
I don’t really care how much a player costs, it’s not my money. The recruitment team (very early stages) seem to know what they’re doing so if they identify a player we want then who cares how much he costs. The way deals are structured the fees are so add on/incentive based that the fee itself isn’t an issue when it comes to ****ing clubs if they go down as a lot of the incentives won’t be hit, the issue is wages for the players.
Whether or not we are able to pay the money, or indeed want to pay the money, I don't know.
But if we don't get him, I just hope that we don't leave ourselves without any time to get an alternative target over the line. By all means treat him as our top target over these final 76 hours, but not our only target. (I'm sure we do have other targets, but how advanced are we with them?)

Well the talk was we are still after a few players so you’d hope they have a few irons in the fire. Whether or not we have any other attacking options currently in talks is another matter.
I can’t imagine at this stage of the window the conversations really take all that long in terms of fee and contract. Obviously can’t be days of negotiations, so you’d imagine the deals are done pretty quickly.

There’s no way we spend £35/40m on a 10 and £25/30m on a striker too. Wonder if it’s one position or the other or if we buy one and loan the other position.

I'd be very happy if we got two more attacking players in, regardless of which way around the purchase / loans are. I only see one though to be honest
If this is accurate I think we stand a chance of getting him. Obviously we started low but sounds like we're still in negotiations. Just about in our price range.
