I see “big” reporter Alex Crook has said that Minamino is not a priority for Saints this window.

Expect he’ll be our marquee signing announced later in the week

Malcolm Ebiowei. 18. Played at Derby last season. Looks like an outstanding talent and a very 'Saints' signing. Young, talented and very cheap (out of contract). Bigger clubs will be after him for the U23s but he would potentially walk into our starting 11 if he can play at this level.

There an indication that we're in for him? Because you're right that he'd definitely fit our MO: had a really good campaign in difficult circumstances for Derby, would be cheap (we'd have to pay compensation, but it'd be sweet fk all based on my limited understanding of the compensation system), and we could almost certainly find him minutes straight of the gate.

I actually think Winks would be a decent replacement for JWP if he went.

£75m from Toon.
£15m on Winks
£60m to spend on a striker and number 10.

Looks talented. Too much forward running & passing though, we'd soon coach that out of him!!

Yeah I’m not convinced either but we definitely are the paupers, so £ will be king.

I think we need genuine upgrades if we’re to avoid the financial consequences of relegation. I have realistic expectations about what our transfer dealings will be this summer, but I’d be worried if we are hoping to continue doing everything on the cheap.

No point selling JWP now. He will be worth the same if not more next summer as his contract is so long. Might as well get another year out of our best player then, if he really does want to leave, cash in then.
