I guess there are no signs we will be paying that sort of money yet.

Still too early to really know, but with all the noises being that we want to sign lots of players this window, whatever budget we have needs to stretch to cover it all. Spending that sort of money on one player might not be on the radar this summer.

No idea about this Aribo fella. Is he an attacking mid?

Saw him play a couple of times for Charlton where he stood out massively as too good for League 1.

Saw him play a couple of times for rangers in their Europa league run and he looked very average. That was against Leipzig and Frankfurt though

If he’s anywhere near as good as stu Armstrong I’ll welcome him from Scotland with open arms

To be fair, they’re working hard to make it look legit <doh>:emoticon-0102-bigsm

I think Leeds will go down next season. I am not convinced Jess Marsch will last the season and expect him to be the latest in a list of Americans who fail in English football. I appreciate that he has tried really hard to grasp the culture at Leeds and that something radical was required after Bielsa had failed to learn that doing the same thing each time and losing was not effective. The loss of their two best players will be a difficult hole to plug. They were poor enough last season with them and just think that even with Bamford at full fitness, they will not see out the third season at this level.

The race I always find fascinating is who will be the first manager to be sacked and how quickly it will happen. It is always surprising that clubs never really grasp whether a manager is good enough during the close season and them wait until September before pressing the panic button. Marsch would be my favourite to get the chop first - I also think that Ralph is unlikely to be in charge the other side of the World Cup.

I think you have a fair point but I think its going to be so tight again next season for all involved. Leeds have a list of pretty awful players IMO, Firpo tops the list, James close second, Strujk I dont rate, Koch and Klich round out the list for me. All of them could be easily replaced and the squad would be better for it. On the plus side, Harrison, Geldhart, Bamford, Messlier, Dallas, Cooper and Ayling provide a decent spine so if they recruit well and cautiously I think they are then they could have a middling and not awful season. The Redbull tactical approach can work very well in the EPL so, as you say, it comes down to Marsch and whether he can get the team playing well and build a strong relationship.

Given our recruitment so far and our opening fixtures I am more concerned for Ralph than for Marsch at the moment.

That's unfortunate...he'd have been my top target for an attacking flair player were I running Saints. Even if he doesn't dominate, he'll sure as hell make things interesting.

Best player in the Eredivisie. I would love to see us in for Jesper Karlsson personally.
