There is always the non-league guy we were supposedly interested in... you know, the one that's about 7ft tall....
I do wonder if we will need to take any kind of decent offer?
I didn't think the accounts were too bad all things considered but clearly VT would be happy to get some decent money in to save reaching into his own pockets all the time... understandably so in fairness.
It would however be a big blow.
Funny when you think about it though. Pretty much all of us were underwhelmed with the thought of Keifer joining with (I think it's fair to say) lukewarm optimism at best.
Now we're all desperate to see him stay or for us to get a handsome amount for him if he goes...
You never know, the way things are going so far this season we may end up saying the same about Flinty and Pack!

I have to say that I'm surprised that Wolves would show any interest in Moore. There's no question that he has real value in distracting defenders and leaving gaps for his team, but Wolves don't need that. They're creating a huge amount of chances but are simply not putting them away. If he went there, I think he would be a plan C player when all else has failed and maybe getting the occasional 15 minutes at the end of games. Still, that's not our problem and if the money is tight, it maybe worth cashing in. We're showing that we can still get goals from other positions even with our aerial game.

The fee could raise to £10 million!
I know he's a decent player but

Some of the fees so far have been ridiculous and not just the top end headline ones either!

Palace have recently taken on a new board member, American, John Textor, who has crossed the door step by putting in about £90mil. WTF!!!
Not sure about FFP implications of that, if it even still exists for Prem clubs, with Man City and Chelski both having spent circa £100mil on single players.

Yet again just widening the gap between the top and the rest.
The whole system is fecked and just permits ludicrous spending by those who have it (though looking at the plight of Barca and the way a few big Prem clubs are financed it is heavily debatable if they actually DO have it ) and encourages reckless spending by those who don't.
It must end somewhere... sadly though until one of the big clubs goes to the wall I can't see the powers that be doing anything to level things up and encourage sensible behaviour.
Unless I am badly mistaken, 90 million in shares (or loans) will not affect the P&L till dividends/interest are paid. Or does FFP somehow look at funds brought into the clubs?
Possibly if used directly to fund player purchases although the use of smoke, mirrors and genies from the lamp makes proving it difficult.

Especially Murphy. It's like someone has nicked the player who came to us 3 seasons ago and replaced him with someone who's never played before.

As for Vaulks, he was trying so hard to make a difference on Tuesday. He did and they scored their second.
I felt he was trying to make up for Wintle who was out of his depth and ineffective. Can Wintle get up to our speed?
I often think that it's hard to remember that the players are human at times and that sometimes it's hard to settle into a new working environment, move home (or be away from home in hotels etc.), build rapport with your new colleagues AND perform to the best of your abilities.
I know football isn't like most jobs but the human elements are still the same regardless of salaries etc.
I recall seeing a story about Mozza I think it was. When he first joined the club he lost his dad (or father in law) and it had a significant impact on him and his family...
He was at the same time being slated by his new clubs fans for not being good enough etc.
Some players do just need a bit longer to adjust than others for a variety of reasons.
We as fans just need a little more patience.
In saying all that.... Murphy does appear beyond redemption sadly.
No one seems to be able to get the best out of him consistently.
Real shame if he never realises his potential.

Strangely with Murphy though, his twin brother at Newcastle, who has always seemed behind our version in development, is now doing a lot better.

Will give Mick the benefit of the doubt.
It might have been the best he could do at the time but the emergence of home grown tallent has negated the need.
We've not been great with signings for some time.
A few exceptions like Keiffer and Ng but more wrong than right.
Not surprised. He has looked out of his depth and won't get much game time with us.
A chance for him to show he can perform at Championship level.
A good opportunity for our young guns and will save a few bob on wages.
