Preston near hedon or Lancashire? either way youve married beneath yourself
The Hedon one, Chazz. But you are wrong about one thing.
It's not possible for me to marry beneath myself

Off topic, but if you'll just settle a domestic dispute for me.
Bob Carver, was your uncle I think.
I'm saying Carvers Patties we're actually fish cakes and they were in coated in bread crumbs, rather than batter.
I don't just think I'm right, I know I'm right.
Mz Kempton, was originally from Preston and she's trying tell me what a Bob Carvers Patty was like.
Pfft...
Patties are potato aren’t they?![]()
My memory of Bob Carvers tent in back o market was that as a kid I always got fish cakes as they didn’t do patties.Of course they are and usually with herbs if they're proper ones.
AlwaysAnd bread crumbs not batter

I think technically, he was my Dad's uncle (I forget), I only knew him due to having to go round at Christmas and him giving me beer when I was about six.
Carver's patties don't have fish in them, they're potato and sage like normal patties, but they are bread-crumbed, not battered.
They did the same thing with fish in them, but they were fish cakes, not patties.
I only ever had them from Hull Fair and they definitely had fish in them.I think technically, he was my Dad's uncle (I forget), I only knew him due to having to go round at Christmas and him giving me beer when I was about six.

Some female advice for you Kemps, if you know what’s good for you, don’t argue with your better half, think long game, not about the battle but the war! If not, hospital food could beckon, which I understand is quite good these days!
Surely up the discussion to curry sauce or mushy peas ....(with the fish cake in bread crumbs)?
Good luck!

Not much, but they did.
Carvers patties are potato with no fish but they have a firmer texture than a standard pattie.
Bread crumbs not batter.
Nowt more to say really.

Like a breaded ice hockey puck.
