Leeds United have signed Spain forward Rodrigo from Valencia for a club record 29m euro (£26m) fee.

Rodrigo, 29, has signed a four-year contract with Marcelo Bielsa's side, who are back in the Premier League after a 16-year absence.


He scored 59 goals in 220 games for Valencia, helping the La Liga club win the Copa del Rey in 2018-19.

Leeds' previous record transfer was former England captain Rio Ferdinand, who cost £18m from West Ham in 2000

I di mention it. Though it was reported as £30 million at that time. Still feel as crap about it. The thought Leeds might survive in the PL makes me feel even crapper. Just realised I missed out rejected...

Splashing £26million on a player who turns 30 within 6 months of the season restarting... buys them proven quality for their current campaign, but not exactly one they will see much of a resale value on.

Our transfer target Ollie Rathbone not included in the Rochdale squad at all today. Rochdale fans think that’s ominous.
 
They aren’t wrong. In the last 4 seasons he’s played on average about 28 games a year. Although it’s better than Toral.
 
Who’s the last player we signed from Rochdale?
I thought we got Gary Brabin from there, but checked & no.
Only bit of business I can find is Steve Doyle going there in 90/91.
