The training ground will beat that out of him.An ex rangers player I know well, told me he's never come across a player as fit as docherty and neither had Gerrard ( which is extremely high praise )

The more I hear, the more I like this lad...
Maybe he knows we normally play in an empty stadium...This excerpt is particularly encouraging .... " ... I ran and got a buzz from an empty stadium". Maybe that's what swayed it for us?
I was there, as Max Boyce used to say. 1958 we beat Oldham 9 - 0, as you say Shiner scored 2 and that was indeed the headline in the "Sport's Mail "Memories of queueing outside the newsagent's between 6:00-6:15 waiting for the delivery van to drop a bundle of 'em off on a Saturday night. Happy days.
Never forget a front page headline in the late 50's :
"This Roy's a real Shiner !"
We'd just signed him from Sheffield Wednesday a couple of days or so earlier and he scored 2 goals in
his debut match @ B.P.
Getting off the train after the match and waiting outside Hammonds for it to come fresh off the press to see if you had missed anything.Memories of queueing outside the newsagent's between 6:00-6:15 waiting for the delivery van to drop a bundle of 'em off on a Saturday night. Happy days.

Bill Bradbury hattrick that day. And Colin Smith too I think.I was there, as Max Boyce used to say. 1958 we beat Oldham 9 - 0, as you say Shiner scored 2 and that was indeed the headline in the "Sport's Mail "
Sorry to spoil your thunder gtiger, but Shiner didn't join City until the '59-'60 season. The 9-0 stuffing of Oldham at B.P. was in the '57-'58 season. Bill Bradbury was top scorer (25) that season, so likely bagged a few that day ! Doug Clarke on the right wing.I was there, as Max Boyce used to say. 1958 we beat Oldham 9 - 0, as you say Shiner scored 2 and that was indeed the headline in the "Sport's Mail "
Phil Buckingham in the Hull Daily Fail suggests that McCann still has money to spend. I might suggest that he spends some of it on a coaching/tactics manual.
Must be my old memory Playing tricks. I do recall Shiner's double I think was a night match. I thought it was against Oldham in that drubbing.Sorry to spoil your thunder gtiger, but Shiner didn't join City until the '59-'60 season. My Daughter in law was out for lunch with the lads cousin yesterday and the exact same thing was mentioned...Apparently the kid is an absolute fitness freak!!!An ex rangers player I know well, told me he's never come across a player as fit as docherty and neither had Gerrard ( which is extremely high praise )

I've heard it from a couple of places now, let's home the hull city injury curse doesn't get him
we don’t have an injury curse - we have a flawed strategy of buying players with a bad history of injuries
Soon find out !!Good engine, fitness freak is all well and good, but can he kick the ball to a team mate?
