You have to compare it to most employees.
If you were an employee and you were contracted until the end of the month and your employer wanted to extend it by one month only and there was a serious risk of something happening that would stop you getting another job would you want to take that risk?

If it was a job to like build a house or fit a set of windows and the job got held up half way through, wouldn't you stay on to finish the job?

You seem to be ignoring the risks footballer take regarding injury

You seem to be ignoring the risks the likes of a builder takes regarding injury.

    no, I'm not
I realise that injury among footballers is much more prevalent than injury among builders

    Is it really?

And what are the comparative injuries?
How long are they on sick pay for?
How many get career ending injuries?
Bit different if an already millionaire footballer or a builder is unable to carry on his (or her) career.

OK i'm not being 100% serious but it does seem a bit ****ish not to play on till the end of the season, though i can see some may be afraid of a tiny chance of injury. They best be careful driving and crossing the road.

Hull City nearly had a whole team of players injured at once recently

Do you know this as a fact?
Papers stating 'failed to agree a short term extension to cover the run-in'.
Assuming this is the truth, then I see him and others as selfish twats with no loyalty to their team mates or to the club (who's paid them handsomely, including during 12 weeks off). If it were a situation where we were mid-table with nothing to play for, then fair enough, but it's not. And with him being Captain makes it even worse.

Look at what happened to Moses Odubajo and he had a contract to fall back on when he got injured
If he had been at the end of his contract he would have been in a terrible position

That's a brave statement, I'd suggest far more serious injuries happen to builders than footballers.

In fact, thirty of them die at work every year in the UK, unlike footballers, where the death rate at work in the UK is zero.

argue about people dying as much as you want
I dont think any of the players who refused extensions claimed they were scared about dying but I do think they were scared about getting injured
I'll carry on being realistic and discuss the risk of injury

I'm quoting from Phil Buckingham's twitter feed. I reasonably sure he's in the know.

Ah, how I've missed all this over the last few weeks
Yes, I'm really not following the minute detail of what's happening at other clubs but as you say, it's probably commonplace. Happening to our opponents on Saturday same as us. Still disappointing however.
